Mission: The Mystery Men of Mira
Location: SB 332 / USS Jackal

Ensign Erica De'Havean moved through the station with her usual felinish grace and confidence as she moved up through station levels to the senior officer's offices. She ignored the looks from those that worked there as she made her way to the suite of offices that belonged to Commander Liarra Von.

She hoped that the Captain had a free moment in her work so she could have a visit concerning her maneuvers she had practiced and perfected in the training holodecks allocated for flight simulations. She entered the outer receptionist office and approached the secretary, "I'd like to speak with Commander Von, Captain of the USS Jackal, please if she has a moment to spare in her busy schedule."

"Let me check, Ensign." The receptionist checked her logs. "Commander Von should be free. She's currently in the executive officer's office off of Main Operations."

Ensign De'Havean nodded an gave a soft appreciative "thanks," and then scampered from the office and headed on up to the command level of the station. With a brief look around the area, spotting her target destination. Made her way over there and tapped the announcer button.

Liarra sat down the report she was working on. She was heading for Cestus III in only a few days, but at this point she was mostly just polishing up her words. "Come in," she stated towards the door, responding to the chime.

Ensign De'Havean did a quick check of herself and then entered once the door fully opened. Coming to a stop before Commander Von. "Need to take the Jackal out on a test run with engineering crew and few others to validate new maneuvers using just the warp magnetic fields that is produced by the Nacelles that enables the ship to travel at light speeds." Pausing to take a breath after the initial outburst.

Liarra chuckled a little. "Calm down, Ensign. What are you talking about? How do your maneuvers work?"

"Meow! This is all done a sublight.. Slower than light speeds... normal maneuvering speeds, Ma'am!" Erica smiled and purred softly, hoping her success in the holodeck could translate into reality, giving the USS Jackal an advantage. "It combines using the warp magnetic fields that pull the ship through space. Only this is used to change direction... Example.. Square turns or sudden climb or decent out of the way of harm." Erica handed over the PADD that showed her test results in the holodeck. "Iz just need to have permission to take the Jackal out for a quick spin to test the results out."

"I'm leaving in just a few days, Ensign. I'd be happy to let you test your theory, but I'm not going to be able to be there to see it. The Jackal's new chief engineer will be arriving in a few days as well. Get with her and Lieutenant Kelly about the modifications that you want to make. I'll make sure he's notified so he knows what's going on."

Erica nodded with a soft purr emittinating from her, "Yes Ma'am!" She turned and left the office, to find the new chief of enigneering for the USS Jackal. With approval to take the ship out to test her theories on an actual ship of the line was going to be the highlight of her career.
