Jobs for the Boys (Backpost)

Mission: Welcome to Archa IV
Location: Starbase 332 - Commander's Office

As Benjamin stepped for the second time onto the operations deck of the starbase, he was once again struck by how very different it was to the bridge of every starship he had ever served on - not just in size, but in layout. Moving through the groupings of consoles, he headed towards the glass doors of the commander's office, noting that there were a couple of yellow-shirts who had one of the two doors locked shut, and were re-stencilling the name on it, from Tae to Alexander Gunning. Benjamin smiled at the site. How much opulence the command would be getting on this station, especially when compared to his former posting on a Defiant class, would surely take a lot of getting used to for the man.

Unfortunately for him he now had three new vessels arriving that he'd need to oversee before they were granted their operational orders from Commodore Renihart.

"Come in." He said, not turning to see who was beyond the door. He felt the glass ruined the surprise.

"Well well well," Benjamin said, smiling as he stepped through the one opening glass door. "I didn't expect to be seeing you again any time soon. It's a small galaxy, isn't it Gunning?"

Byrne! Of course! He had known his old classmate was on the station but he hadn't expected him to be one of the first people he saw in his new job. "Benjamin! It is indeed! Tiny, in fact. How are you?"

"Not too bad," Ben smiled as he moved up to shake his old classmate's hand. "I see that Starfleet has finally let you catch up to me in the number of commands we've each held."

"And about time too," Gunning said as he motioned for the Captain to take a seat. "How's the cut-and-thrust life of a Starfleet Captain treating you?"
