| Physical Description | The shuttle finally left the USS Carthage which had brought Dewitt to this sector of the galaxy. It had been a long journey from the core worlds and it had been a long time since he had been this far from the galactic core. He reflected on the fact that he was not, in fact,far from where he had been brought up on the Spartan Nations, only a few sectors over. As he looked at the massive outpost ahead of him, he briefly pondered that he had really gone the long way round. If he had stuck in with the Spartan upbringing, perhaps he could have arrived at Starbase 332 by other means; he could have arrived hear as a civilian contractor a long time ago and rose to the position that he was applying for. The years in between had given him a greater sense of the worth of his upbringing, of the worth of his Spartan ideals. It had also made him far more aware of the essential difference between his home-world and the Federation ideal. He was not the typical explorer type. He did not want to uncover the mysteries of the universe. He wanted to preserve the order which had come so close to being overthrown by tyranny of the Dominion. And now, in the vast reaches of empty space which encompassed his home he thought that finally, he could unite the Spartan ideals of discipline with the Federation goal of stability. |

| Personal History | Isaac grew up in the harsh environs of the Spartan Nation. Although convinced by his upbringing that the Spartan ideals of discipline and obedience would allow him to personally prosper on Sparta, Isaac also came to understand that this mindset would result in to short-sightedness and would lead to the Spartan Nations becoming isolated within the galactic community. As a result of a botched Federation away mission on Sparta, Isaac became convinced that it was his responsibility to personally improve the Federation and not just dismiss them out of hand. For Isaac, this was always a two-way street - he believes that the Federation has as much to learn from him as he does from it. During his time at the academy, Isaac excelled at fitness and security disciplines. His superiors deemed that the science vessel USS Maxwell would provide opportunities for broader career development. The outbreak of the Dominion war provided an outlet for Isaac's aggressive . He was awarded the medal of valour for his actions during the Siege of AR558. Peace-time proved more difficult for Isaac as politics and Starfleet's return to an exploratory role resumed. His assignment on Cardassia Prime resulted in several misdemeanours as a result of excessive use of force against civilians. Due to this, he For several years, Isaac was on the rotation circuit of Core galactic worlds in junior security roles. This entailed a great deal of frustration for Isaac, despite the fact that it was still in a field which he respected greatly. His eventual assignment aboard the USS Pearce brought him more satisfaction as he was made deputy to the chief of Security. His subsequent assignment aboard the USS Salmond a few happy settled years and proved to his superiors that Isaac could be trusted in a non-military role. |
