Manifest Guide

Some of the positions are a bit different from what you might be used to, so here's a handy guide.

Command

Executive Officer

One of the first things you'll notice about Starbase 332 is that it doesn't have a player character as Executive Officer. This was a decision we took fairly recently in order to free up players to be more involved in the story. We found that the Exec was very often taking duties or interactions away from other characters and becoming involved in stories which would have better suited other characters.

With that in mind we introduced Commander Narayn Ballard who acts as the 'administrative hub' of the station taking on most of the personnel and the boring ol' paperwork which frees everyone else up to do more exciting things.

Strategic Operations

Chief of Strategic Operations

The Chief Strategic Operations Officer is responsible for coordinating all Starfleet and allied assets in within their designated area of space, as well as tactical analysis (in the absence of a dedicated tactical department) and intelligence gathering (in the absence of a dedicated intelligence department).

Station Operations

Chief of Operations

The Chief of Operations is responsible for the condition of all systems and equipment on board a Starfleet facility. They oversee maintenance, repairs and upgrades of all equipment and is also responsible for the many repair teams during crisis situations.

They also have the responsibility of ensuring that ship functions, such as the use of the lateral sensor array, do not interfere with one and another. They must prioritize resource allocations, so that the most critical activities can have every chance of success. If so required, they can curtail station-wide functions if they think they will interfere with the ship's current mission or routine operations.

Station Security

Station security are tasked with internal security and crime prevention and are very different to the kind of security force you might be familiar with on Starfleet ships. They are more similar to a standard 'city police' force and this is reflected in the colour of their uniform tunics which are navy to make them more visible to civilians.

Chief of Security

The Chief of Security is tasked with ensuring the safety of both the station and its inhabitants. They are responsible for heading up the station's vast 'police' force and is also its chief detective.

Starbase Air Wing Seventeen (SVW-17)

14th Battalion, United Federation of Planets Marine Corps

Starfleet Medical

Hospital Administrator

Doctor Komack is a non-playing character designed to let the Chief Medical Officer get on with the business of treating patients rather than worrying about administration and running a hospital. The Chief Medical Officer is the senior staff's main contact for all medical queries.

There are a number of staffed Starfleet Sickbays across the station and therefore Commander Komack is responsible for staffing and overseeing their operation. She is there to let the Chief Medical Officer focus on the fun things in simming a Starfleet Doctor, rather than spending their IC days deciding which doctor goes where on any given day.
