He is adept in the Vulcan martial arts, including the neck pinch, which took him years to master. He is preternaturally cold, which is why he usually can be found in his flight suit as opposed to the standard uniform. The flight suit is designed to protect the wearer in extreme environments, and while the normal starship atmosphere is not atypical, it is too cool for his comfort. When wearing a standard uniform, he also wears the jacket. In extremely cold environs, Royce begins to suffer a decrease in both his physical and mental acuities. |

| Personal History | Royce stems from a long line of Starfleet officers. He has spent time on many worlds, but from the time he was a teenager to when he entered Starfleet Academy, he spent the majority of his time on Vulcan. His father Starfleet Captain, currently in command of the USS Vanguard. His mother is the chief medical officer on the same ship. Crystal is a Federation attaché to the Earth Embassy on Vulcan. Sylvia is married to a civilian engineer working at the Utopia Planetia Ship Yards. Royce was raised under a strict disciplinarian and the highest standards of performance were always expected. This upbringing served him well as he attended the Vulcan higher institutes of learning and Starfleet Academy. |

| Service Record | Royce entered Starfleet Academy at the age of 18 and graduated four years later. He graduated figher pilot school as the top pilot and labled with the moniker "Hammer" because of his relentless pursuit of his target. His first assignment was to the USS Crucible, a modified Ambassador Class, to VMF 313 "Mongoose" squadron. There he was assigned a Viper class fighter and paired up with RIO (Radar Intercept Officer) Ralph "Anvil" Marshall. Three years later he was promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade and made flight leader. During his time at the Crucible he also performed duties on the bridge at the helm and piloted shuttles of various types. During his tenure, the team Hammer and Anvil became at once famous and infamous for their ability, tenacity, and out-of-the box thinking, flying, fighting and off duty recreational activities. Two years later, at the age of 27, Royce and Marshall were transferred to Starbase 332 to assume command of VMA 138 "Python" squadron. Royce became the youngest pilot in the history of the Federation to attain the position of Squadron Commander. |
