Physical Description		Darzen's physical appearance is not unusually of a Trill in its mid-20s. He is of medium height and build with black hair, cut into a side parting and deep blue eyes. It was not until he became joined that Darzen's previously ice blue irises became darker with the knowledge of "his" previous life.

Personality & Traits

General Overview		Darzen Evis had been described by some as a precocious brat. His abilities as a tactician were evident from an early age and, instead of becoming an introvert at school, became beating heart of his class. His twin passions, learning and girls often butted heads. Since taking on the Arion symbiont, his clarity of purpose has become obscured in the haze of memories and experiences of the previous host of the Arion symbiont that he was ill-prepared for. His confusion at his sense of self caused him to drop out of the Academy during his first semester.

Ambitions		Darzen's previous ambitions had been to elevate himself to the highest ranks within Starfleet but since his joining he has lowered his immediate ambitions in the hope of finding his sense of 'self' again.
Hobbies & Interests		Darzen Evis' hobbies had previously been in the sporting field, with a passion for soccer and court basketball but since taking on the Arion symbiont he has found himself more at home in the pages of a book.

Personal History		Darzen Evis Born to Darnel and Tarant Evis aboard the USS Carthage in 2366, Darzen was a gregarious child with a playful spirit and a thirst for knowledge. From an early age it was clear that Darzen was destined for a life in Starfleet and with the family having opted out of the Symbiosis Commission many years before, there was nothing which could stand in the young Darzen’s way. At age 23, while assigned to cover for Morgan Kelly as an instructor on one of the USS Wainwright’s cadet flights another Trill officer, Zaari Arion was mortally wounded in a freak explosion. While trying to limp back to safe harbour at Starbase 332 Zaari passed away and Darzen was thrust into the compromising position of accepting the immature symbiont in order to have it survive. Darzen Arion Once the Arion Symbiont was transplanted, Darzen immediately began experiencing doubts about his place in the world. Upon arrival at the back at the station he was visited by his worried parents and several representatives from the Symbiosis Commission. The constant training and interruptions from the Commission led Darzen to take a hiatus from Starfleet one month after returning to the Station. Eventually the pressure to come to terms with the Arion symbiont led to him to return to Trill. Without ever having had the training of an Initiate it took Darzen six months before he could sleep properly without having flashbacks to previous memories of hosts. By the end of 2390, it was obvious that Darzen was ready to return to his posting and had become frustrated by the lack of support he received on Trill. When he returned to his posting as a Security Officer on 332, he found himself able to put his symbiont to the side and focus on his duties but with a renewed enthusiasm which he believed came to him through Zaari, the previous host of the Arion symbiont. Another side-effect of the symbiont was Darzen’s sudden wanderlust. Where it had previously been his intention to work his way up the Starfleet Security ladder by gaining practical experience and specialities on Starbases, he found himself with a desire to ‘get out into space’. Having applied for a transfer through the new Chief of Security, Jordan Gunning, Darzen was approached to take on the role of Assistant Chief of Security aboard the USS Antares. While he was relatively inexperienced to take such a role on that size of ship, there seemed to be more than a little guilt on the part of Starfleet having had one of their officers altered forever in order to save another. After two years aboard the Antares, Arion felt the need to return to ‘dry land’ and applied to transfer back to Starbase 332, accepting a position in the Station Security department.
