Hobbies & Interests | Vyssia loves tinkering with things, and so she has a collection of scale models of various types that she painstakingly loves to build. She also enjoys adventure stories, tales of dashing and daring do. On the holodeck, she loves hiking and rock climbing as well as cliff diving. |
Personal History | The oldest of three, Vyssia was born on a frontier colony her parents were stationed at in 2359. While growing up, her siblings were moved back to Andoria due to the Dominion War with family. There was fear and uncertainty with her parents returning, but they did and the year after the end of the Dominion War, Vyssia was accepted into Starfleet Academy. She went up through the Command track, and was noted that she often gave up higher positioning in her class by helping to elevate others instead. That did not get her the best postings, but it did earn her a commendation. Upon graduating in 2380, she was posted to the USS Ganymede as a helm officer and shuttle pilot. During her tour on the Ganymede, she began to also branch out into Engineering tasks due to shortages in Engineering and a desire to learn more. Once again, she demonstrated that she often let credit go to others to elevate them. In 2386, she was reassigned as Chief Conn Officer on the USS Normandy, which was posted along the border with the Breen. On several occasions, she and the crew of the Normandy were tested by Breen raids, but Vyssia showed herself able to handle adverse situations on the fly while keeping others focused and on task. As a result, she was made Second Officer of the Normandy, but was passed over for Executive Officer due to lack of time in the role. Frustrated but undaunted, Vyssia instead accepted an instructor role at Starbase 332, hoping to both train the next generation of officers in her example but also improve her own chances. |
