| Personal History | Michael Dodgers jr, or Dodger to his friends was born in Pretoria, in the South of Africa. His father was an administrator for the Earth government and his mother a dentist. from an early age on Michael was a big fan of war games and physical sports. He dreamed of one day becoming a soldier, or rather, a commander deploying his troops on the battlefield and securing victory, as he did in the war games. In high school, he became quarterback for his district, and he found a way to utilize his knowledge of strategy. He dreamed of going to starfleet academy, and seemed to be heading for a bright career, untill one day, just before the final of the world games, the coach found copies of tests in Michael's locker. They weren't his, but there was no way to prove that, and the coach refused to believe him. Seeing the importance of the coming game, the coach agreed to hold off telling the principal till afterwards, but effectively Michael's Starfleet career was over before it began. After Dodger's expulsion from school. his old math's teacher pointed out that there was still a way for him to become a soldier. Enlisting in the SFMC. Michael decided to join up and went off to bootcamp. His strategic insight and natural leadership were quickly noticed, and he finished the 9 month course as a squad commander, and was given the rank of full corporal upon graduation. He was deployed with the 10th fleet, and within a year of service he was promoted to sergeant, and made platoon sergeant under Lieutenant Sharpe. The 18th battalion was under command of Colonel Hague, a living legend who played a pivotal part in the cardassian wars. Dodger really looked up to the man. During this time the Dominion wars started for real. the tenth fleet and with it the eighteenth battalion were tasked with protecting the eastern federation homeplanets, which was a rather uneventful task. So much so, that the fleet commander Rear Admiral Nochek decided to take the entire fleet for an exercise. that day disaster struck.Jem Hadar forces, supported by Cardassian and Breen troops invaded Betazed. It took the fleet nearly a week to return, and by then the planet was so well defended, that a long siege ensued. One day Colonel hague visited Dodger's battalion to find volunteers for a covert mission to infiltrate the Betazoid capitol. Dodger volunteered immediately, and he was placed second in command to Captain Maxos who as to lead the twenty men operation. the group was dropped behind enemy lines. At Michael's suggestion they dressed as federation administrators, they managed to gain entry to the Capitol building, From there, they were able to disrupt the defenses long enough for Hague's troops to free the capitol city. During the ensuing fire fights Captain Maxos was severely injured, and it fell to Michael to get him and the troops home safely. He used the layout of the city to avoid hot spots, and the entire team made it out alive. Following his exemplary conduct Hague had Dodger assigned to the officer's training academy on Io for officer training, and six months later he was assigned as a strategic analyst to the 14th Battalion. During the post dominion war period, much of the SFMC's work was clearing out pockets of resistance as well as rebuilding. Dodger turned out to be a logistical expert as well as a strategist, and he quicklly rose through the ranks. In 2384 he was assigned as the Battalion CO. Now, with the reassignment of the 11th fleet, he has been ordered to relocate to starbase 332, in order to coordinate the SFMC activity in the Tholian sector. |
