Captain's log, stardate 65099.15

Our lives have taken a really strange turn. We have returned to our own time, having assisted the Excelsior in the disabling of the Ritorian battle cruisers. Our weapons were too powerful for them and luckily, both Federation vessels escaped without a scratch.

As for returning home, I look forward to reading Lieutenant Prax and Commander Reinhart's report on the solar orbit that we had to pull off to get back here. Captain Sulu's calculations seem to have been about right but there is a feeling of apprehension on the bridge that we're going to get home to the Starbase and find that we're 10 years out. Or worse... that something's different.

I was informed by Sulu that Alev was relieved of duty pending a court martial. The Captain revealed a regret in the action. I think we both agreed that we would have done the same. Who wouldn't? Liarra informs me that he made it back into service so... I suppose that's something. He saved a lot of people. Our understanding is that after a while, the people are so indoctrinated by the psyonic generators that they don't believe they were ever free or worse, they don't believe they were conquered by a hostile power.

Regardless of all that, I'm not looking forward to returning to the Starbase. It will be nice to be home but I'll only be a couple of days from receiving a visit from Temporal Investigations as soon as my report is submitted to the admiralty. It's times like those that I have no desire to be a Starfleet captain.
