Commanding Officer's Log, Stardate 63865.44

It appears that our journey to 11th Fleet Headquarters is going to take longer than I thought. We have run across a Klingon research base on Yucca-seventeen. On first investigation it seemed that the base had been attacked but it was unclear what or who by.

Our records show that the Klingons were permitted to be on the planet by Starfleet but I'm curious as to why that information had a level six clearance on it. Something is clearly being hidden from us and I'm intent on discovering what it is.

The Klingon scientist that we recovered from the base on Yucca-17 is recovering well. He goes by the name of Bord and after a lot of convincing told us what happened on the planet's surface. This information troubles me as I'm sure it will trouble Starfleet when they are informed. It seems that the base was attacked by a Starfleet vessel. Lieutenant Prax has analysed the ion trail and we have plotted a course to follow the ship.

At this time we have no idea of which ship attacked the base, only that they have kidnapped two of the scientists. We need to stop them and find out why these scientists have been taken. We will also need to interrogate Bord to find out what they were experimenting on on the surface. So far, he has been less than forthcoming with helpful information.
