We have returned to the Jackal and left the Utica in the hands of their freed crew. Lieutenant Allein has met us with the Rendaar and we will be rendezvousing with the IKS Rottoor in the next hour in order to return the vessel and the scientists to the Klingons.

I have been ordered to redirect to Starbase 332 by Vice Admiral Sanchez who is currently aboard the USS Endeavour, apparently. The orders were sent almost three days ago but for some reason we seem to just be receiving them now. I'm to meet with Rear Admiral Wellington when we reach the base, presumably for a briefing on our assignment in Galactic South. I have a funny feeling we'll spend a few months running between the Starbase and the frontier, helping colony ships and cargo vessels.

I'm sure a few months of milk runs will delight my crew.

As for our friend Maddux, we have granted him passage to Starbase 332 as his tour aboard the Utica is up and along with several other crewmen, we will take them to the base to await their reassignment. His help was invaluable and if I thought we weren't going to be running cargo ships, I'd look to assign an Intelligence officer to the Jackal.
