Personal Log: Major Alexandria Somers

Alex was on a Klingon Bird of Prey her father arranged it for her as a going away present. He knew she enjoyed the company of Klingon’s, liked their food even and their alcohol, unlike the majority of humans she could go toe to toe in a drinking match. Last time she tried it she was sick for four hours the next day with a mother of a hangover, she could also speak fluent Klingonese so she would fit right in.

So now here she was on route to Starbase 332, under the assumption that she would be taking over Omega Squad an 11 man team with her making it twelve, little did she know how wrong her thinking was.

“Alexandria’s Personal Log Stardate 239205.10 I am currently on route to Starbase 332, to take over a Squad that Major Naomi Griffiths created during her short time there. She never told me too much about it, only that my second would be a Marine Captain Jeff Smith and that he is a good man I guess I will find out when I get there”

She paused a she turned a page in the book she was reading.

“I am told the Starbase has a new MCO with ideas on how the 14th Btn is to be set up, this alone should make first contact with him interesting. I am also aware that 332 is not Gaia Colony, I never got a chance to get the Marine Detachment there up and running before the CO vanished.”

“Now I have a new assignment and I must say I am psyched at being on the frontier again, I spent too long in the home front, doing HQ type tasks I have almost forgotten what it is like to fight a battle one does not know if they will win. My time working with a Vulcan ambassador and sitting through meetings and the occasional Federation council session was at first interesting then it became tedious. I told the Vulcan ambassador and in the usual Vulcan way he acknowledged this and mentioned his appreciation on that I hid my discomfort so well.”

She paused to take a sip of her Bloodwine before continuing.

“When I was told that when my duties with the Vulcan diplomat had finished, I was to be assigned to Starfleet Intelligence, my superiors knew I had issues with SFI but they put me in there to spite me I am sure. I was told it was a fitting punishment my prejudices against SFI were strong considering they were at fault for the failure of a mission I done where I lost a close friend. But imagine to my surprise that over time the SFI Officer in charge worked out who I was and allowed me a look into the side that had a hand in my past mission. Since then I have dropped my barriers towards SFI and now appreciate what they had to do and have actually made some Intel friends, even my father was surprised at that. Now here I am on my way back to the front lines not knowing what awaits me, computer End Log encrypt and send it to Starfleet databanks then wipe the log from ships memory”
