Another Restaurant, Another Station Inspection

Posted on Wed May 4th, 2011 @ 10:37am by Commander Dietrich Reinhart

Mission: Shore Leave - Archa IV
Location: Promenade
Timeline: MD02 - 1103Hrs

Dietrich's head felt about two or three atmospheres over-pressured this day, and thought maybe his bad luck had to do with the station's gravity plating. A mental note - float in your cabin later, Dietrich. Should help with the tension and make it easier for you to bounce off the walls, his mind told him.

But part of his official duties as a Big XO of the station was certifying all new civilian establishments. The CO did not need to bother hightailing around to 50,000 inhabitants when he had better things to concern himself with - like Archanis Government, Fleet Operations and securing/procuring/stealing the supplies needed to run the Stardock-class station. So it was a part of the job that Commander Dietrich Reinhart did not necessarily enjoy, but one he was glad to take off the shoulders of Captain Gunning. Today's meeting was with a spoonhea---Cardassian, Dietrich stopped himself, who was opening a restaurant in a vacant space on the promenade. He was a few minutes late for the inspection, but did not feel all that terrible about his lack of punctuality with the war crimina----Cardassian, stopping himself yet again.

Reinhart came to a stop in front of the restaurant and stared at his chronometer. The Promenade was not as busy as it would be in about forty minutes - Lunch Rush, so it was a great time to get this meeting over with and back to the safety and quiet of Station Ops - some several dozen levels up. "Mr. Dukal," Reinhart called into the establishment, trying to find the man---Cardassian he was scheduled to meet.

Rokan had been back in his kitchen cooking up the afternoons specialty; grilled firewood Skopar. He had brought it with him the day before in his vessel, fresh at the time and kept on ice. This was the last day he could use it and so far it was coming out wonderfully. As he wiped his hands with a towel he listened to his name being called out from the inside of his restaurant, something he was not expecting. Making sure the food was cooking properly the gray skinned Cardassian stepped out of the kitchen and into the main area of his establishment.

Spotting the Human officer in Command red, Rokan quickly recognized the man as the Stations Executive Officer. He had taken the time to memorize key personnel for the station as a way of knowing potential customers and players whom he would most likely interact with. Putting on a smile as he walked towards the blond haired officer he offered a short nod once he came up to the man. "Good afternoon Commander and welcome to The Edosian. We're not due to open up for another thirty minutes if you were hungry so I apologize in advance if that was your intention."

"No, no, sir," Reinhart tried to smile. "I'm just here to give you your final inspection and sign the Station's Operating Agreement." He extended his hand and grinned. "I am the Station's Executive Officer. Dietrich Reinhart. Pleased to meet you." He looked around the Edosian. Chairs, tables, themes, modern, pretty good use of the shop's space. One of the station's engineers would have already gone over the power use, safety concerns and certification of the HVAC. Nothing more than just doing a final walkaround.
