A Visit to the Holosuite

Posted on Sun Jun 12th, 2011 @ 8:06pm by Lieutenant JG Allison Price & Lieutenant JG Kili Dell

Mission: Shore Leave - Archa IV
Location: Promenade

Allie could hardly contain herself. So far her time on the station was spent being shuffled around, fixing uncomplicated malfunctions and complete other menial tasks for her superiors. While she had been learning some valuable information, especially from the acting chief engineer, she hadn't really met anyone close to her age that she could call a friend. That seemed to change today when she met Ensign Dell. She even already had plans to meet her new friend once they were off duty. Allison had taken the opportunity to reserve their holosuite, though she wasn't sure what program they were going to run. She'll let her new friend have a say in that.

Kili Dell had been working on catching up to recent events for the most part, almost forgetting about her appointment with the Cadet, until she had glanced at the panel that Allison had been fixing just a few hours earlier, which had immediately turned her thoughts to the human girl. She practically rushed out of her office and made her way to the appointment's location. Glancing at a nearby time display, she noted that she was a few minutes early, so she stood outside the club, waiting to see if Allison would show up before she went in. The trill felt a bit nervous about the situation, but she hoped that she wouldn't mess things up too much with her usual babbling when it came to interacting with others in a more private setting.

Allie spotted her new friend waiting near the club. Increasing her speed, she hurried to meet up with Ensign Dell. "Kili! How are you? I've reserved our holosuite. I hope you've been thinking about what programs you may want to run."

The trill smiled at seeing her new friend, her eyes sparkling a little while her own excitement caught on. She had spent the past few minutes leaning against a nearby wall, watching the people walking about out of the corners of her eyes. It was a good way to determine how bad an area was by the amount of pick pocketing one could spot. Luckily for her, there had been none. Her eyes blinked to get her back to the present and she made contact with Allie as she shook her head slightly, "I was thinking of leaving that up to you, really. For one, I don't really know what the selection here is... then there's the problem that the programs I usually run might be inappropriate, not to me mention some of them being designed for single users. Give me some options to choose from," she said with a grin as her eyes roamed over the other woman, taking in the way she looked.

Allie looked over the list of programs. Some of them she had already done, but there was certainly a long list. It would take her a long time to get through all the ones she was interested in. "Let's see, I really enjoy holonovels of various genres. We've got mysteries, fantasy, spy adventures, even some trashy novels." The cadet blushes a little. "Those are kinda a guilty pleasure of mine too. We've also got some historical reenactments. There are a lot of battles from Federation history. I haven't done too many of those, though you might enjoy them. There are some sport programs too. They're handy for when you can't get enough people to actually play a real game, though it doesn't really feel the same playing against holograms. Sometimes I just like to relax and just check out various locations and planets. I guess it just depends on what you may be in the mood for."

Kili glanced over the program list. She really didn't want to have to choose, what with the slight feeling of wanting to go for a particular program just to see how the cadet would react to her choice. "Fantasy tends to be my thing more often than not if I have to be honest," she said, her finger trailing along the list, contemplating for a moment or two before turning a slight pink due to a blush of her own as she noted at least a couple of Anne Rice titles. The trill coughed to clear her throat before adding, "You take your pick, I'm in the mood for something new and I'm sure you're more familiar with this selection than I am. Plus, I kind of doubt you'd want to be stuck in something like this," she grinned as she pointed toward one of the choices in the fantasy section labeled 'Mystania'. Her eyes sparkled in amusement while she clarified, "Even less so on a first ummm... date." Kili bowed her head slightly, appearing flustered at the thought, though she was secretly looking up toward the human to judge the woman's reaction.

The cadet thought a moment. A perplexed look appeared on her face as she studied the program list. "Aha," she exclaimed, almost making Kili jump in surprise. "I know what we can do. How about an evening of rest and relaxation. There is the great little spa on Risa. I've never been, but I have used the program many times. There are saunas, hot tubs, massages. You'll love it."

"Now that sounds like something I'd definitely go for," the trill replied after regaining her composure following Allie's sudden outburst. A small grin formed on her lips as she tilted her head to the side, "Then again... are you sure? I mean if we're going to baths, spas and such places together... it would mean we'd end up naked in close proximity." Kili was wondering exactly what would happen in the end. After all, she wasn't one to shy away from a woman looking as nice as the cadet, but then again she wasn't certain about the human's feelings and plans either.

"I doubt it will be that big of a deal," Allison replied, shaking her head. "They have towels and robes. Besides, it's not like we haven't had to shower in the locker rooms at the Academy."

The ensign gave a quick nod and smiled. "Okay, I've been due a bit of pampering for quite some time now. Let's go and see how things go," she responded, beaming a smile to the cadet. She intended to make the best of it and avoid putting off the slightly older woman. Romantic interests aside, the trill certainly needed a friend, so she would attempt to keep things going the way a couple of friends enjoying some rest and relaxation would.

The cadet grinned and tapped a few commands into the holosuite control panel. The computer beeped to acknowledge the program, and the large double doors slid open. On the other side, in stark contrast to the blues and greys of the station, was a bright tropical paradise. Allie turned back towards Kili and gestured for her to go inside.

The trill gave a small nod and casually strolled through the holosuite entrance. While her eyes were glancing in each direction, almost as if expecting a random assault, her posture was quite relaxed. Once in, she turned around with a smile, extending her hand out to offer it to the human cadet.

Allie flashed another smile and took the Ensign's hand. Giving it a little squeeze, she led Kili off into the resort, the holosuite doors sliding to a close behind them.

The trill was smiling, possibly feeling really happy for the first time since being assigned to the station. There was something in the air, or perhaps she was just happy with being able to let go of protocol at least for a bit while she enjoyed all the resort had to offer in such lovely company.
