[The Past - Realisations]

Posted on Tue May 17th, 2011 @ 1:20pm by Captain Liarra Von & Lieutenant Commander Nilani Prax & Lieutenant Commander Morgan Kelly

Mission: In Defiance Of Orders
Location: Archan Nebula Cluster

[ON]

Liarra's eyes slowly force their way back open. Her hand immediately goes to her temple, trying to fight off a splitting headache. A quick look around the room tells her that she wasn't the only one to lose consciousness. Fortunately, so of the other members of the crew were starting to come to. "Report," she muttered out, to whoever was able to listen.

The Chief of Intelligence had ironically been knocked out by the spatial phenomenon's affect on the small vessel. Shinji's body took a little longer than others to reclaim its' life, and upon doing so, his mind rebooted back into a state of calm paranoia and desire for control of the situation, whatever that happened to be. The Lieutenant stood up from his unconventional place on the floor and went to scan through the ship's records - all of them. "Commander, the computer has suffered some damage. I'm unsure as to the specifics, however I believe we've lost some portions of the ship's onboard database."

Kelly pulled himself back to his feet. Tactical scanners were out but weapons still seemed to be online. For what it mattered. Ensign Y'Laais was out cold beside the helm so if there was any kind of attack now, they'd be destroyed right out of the traps.

Nilani forced her eyes open, and again when they automatically shut on her, her lids feeling like lead weights. She lifted a hand up to her head and when she pulled it away felt moisture on her fingertips. Putting thoughts of potential injuries from the rough ride to the side, and greatful for the feeling of numbness she had, she pulled herself up and tapped a couple of controls on her console. "Long range sensors are down," she managed to report. "Star plots show us to still be within the Archanis Sector."

Kelly's sensors were telling him nothing. He still felt dizzy and clung onto his console as if it were saving him from the edge of a precipice. "What the hell happened?"

The comm system crackled into life. "Engineering to Bridge, this is Ensign Fisk. We don't seem to have taken any dam..." the comm channel crackled "...tems should be coming back online."

Kelly glared at his tactical sensors as if they were all that was keeping him from collapsing. "My tac sensors are coming back to bear, Captain."

Liarra nodded. "Assess our situation, Lieutenant. Any thing on sensors?"

"I'm not getting anything of note, Ma'am." Kelly replied quickly. "There's no other vessels in our vicinity- the only thing I can detect is the anomaly."

Nilani squeezed her eyes shut before opening them again, trying to clear her hazy vision, and confirm what she saw on her console. Starbase 332 was just inside their short-range sensor distance... or was meant to be. Sensors weren't picking up its signature, though. "Commander..." she started, though she stopped before she could continue the sentence, holding her had up to her injured head.

Von turned her chair to face the scientist. "What is it, Nilani? What have you found?"

Nilani took a few moments to wait for the headache to pass, or at least dissipate enough to allow her to concentrate. "The station... I'm not detecting it on our short-range sensors."

"Confirmed." Kelly piped up. "I don't have it on mine either." He moved forward towards the science station and looked at the gash on Prax's head. "You should really get to sickbay, Nilani."

For the past several minutes, Shinji had been distracted with his in-depth analysis of the damage to the computer and its' records that he almost didn't hear what was going on throughout the bridge. He figured for a brief time that whatever it was that had the rest of the other officers up in arms was something that they alone could deal with, however the absence of the station where Shinji would be serving onboard was now gone, and this disturbed him so much as to make him carry out another investigation at the same time. While he keyed in a query to the computer, knowing it would take a while for a response, Shinji began analyzing the local star charts of the region to the ship's sensor logs. There was a little corruption within the files, however that didn't stop him from releasing his results. "Commander, based on my analysis of the stellar patterns in this sector, I believe it's not a question of where we are, but when. We've traveled back in time; however due to data deficencies, I'm unable to ascertain the exact stardate right now."

Liarra leaned back and rubbed the bridge of her nose. Time travel, she thought to herself. Just what have we gotten ourselves into.

[Some Time Later]

Kelly looked back at his sensors. They were lit up like a shipping lane on a foggy night. "Captain!" He called towards Von. "I have a strong signal on scanners. There's some kind of activity in the nebula."

"On screen," Von commanded. Nothing else had seemed to go right on this mission, so naturally she was apprehensive of whatever was about to happen now.
