Mission: The Mystery Men of Mira
Location: Commanding Officer's Ready Room [Main Operations - Deck 12]

Lieutenant Eito stood and stared at the female for quite some time before he approached her. He observed a scuff on his right boot. How did that happen? Yes, he was sure, it was in the lift. Eito turned and walked to the nearest head and cleaned his boot. Returning he observed the Female Orderly in question and made his way towards her.

He could see the Captain walking about in what appeared to be a glass-doored office. "Greetings, I'm Lieutenant Eito. I have arrived to report to the Commander of this Station."

"Certainly, Lieutenant. He's expecting you." She replied, motioning that the Lieutenant should head on through.

Reggie smiled and thanked her. Stepping into the office he smartly reported to Captain Gunning. "Sir I'm Lieutenant Eito. I shall be your station engineer." Eito was hoping he Captain liked Engineers... Most needed a person in the position but seldom liked it. Reggie was sure he would spot the scuff on his boot....

Gunning looked up at the man who stood before him, staring down at the scuff on his boot. He seemed pensive, even nervous. "It's good to have you aboard, Lieutenant. Take a seat. And stop worrying about your boot. If I expected my engineering staff to be neatly turned out all the time then I imagine most of the vital systems on the station would break down within the week."

Eito took a chair and relaxed. I'm excited to be here Captain Gunning. I plan to get to work very soon. I haven't checked into Engineering yet. I'm sure there is much to be done."

"You'll be in for a shock, Lieutenant. The refit of the turbolift system is going at a snail's pace and we're under a lot of pressure to get them up and running. With the current political situation in the region, we're seeing a lot more footfall and we need our logistical systems up to scratch."

Eito nodded in agreement. "I shall make that my first priority Sir. I have taken the liberty of checking the crew lists. We have an abundance of private contractors on the station that would appear to be sitting on their hands. I shall be paying these contractors a visit and will report my progress. At times all it takes is a few comments, I do not enjoy creating turbulence but this station has a mission that needs to be conducted."

"Sounds like a good plan, Lieutenant. You'll have a budget set that you can hopefully entice some of the contractors with. I don't think that should be too much of a problem." He glanced down at his PADD. "Anything else you think you'll need? I imagine that Senior Chief Bones should have more of an idea of what kind of thing you'll be facing on a more day-to-day basis."

"No sir, I'll really know more when I get to task. If there are any major issues I will send word. I look forward to meeting my team and getting some issues back on track." Eito stood and saluted the Captain.

"Enjoy yourself, Lieutenant." Gunning said, cracking a wry smile.
