Mission:
Insecurities
Location: Holo Deck
That Sivity had succeeded in getting to the holo-deck without hitting anyone she could only attribute to the correct selection of charms and wards and the distinct lack of foot traffic at the time. She’d seriously questioned the potency and efficacy of her new luck stone when presented with the two unwanted messages. The first was from Samanthia. Typical of an Andoran, Sivity’s initial response was one of anger. She felt that she’d been played and used for Sammy’s amusement. Only when she’d calmed and played it a second and third time did she register the emotion within the message. That mollified her somewhat. Her anger shifted to disappointment. That disappointment though was quickly subsumed within rage as she played the second message. She was to have a room-mate. She got no choice in the matter. Worst of all, it was a fur shedding Caitian.
Thus she found herself clad entirely in black as if for a black ops manoeuvre. That she was wearing flat, combat boots and not her beloved heels indicated the seriousness and gravity of her ire.
The simulator had generated a jungle scene. It was night and stealthy hunters sought to encircle her. Sivity though, was armed – well armed. She held a phaser in each hand and had a rifle slung across her back. Foliage rustled to her right, but she continued forward as stealthily as she could. Suddenly the jungle parted and three figures leapt at her; two from the left and one from the right. She dropped to a crouch and fired. Two dropped; one on her left and one on her right. The third fell upon her, but she rolled and kicked it away. Both phasers fired and the figure lay still on the jungle floor. It was a Caitian. Sivity smiled. She unslung the rifle and knelt. Her enhanced hearing brought to her soft footfalls of her ‘hunters’. She commenced picking them off by sound alone.
