Mission: Insecurities
Location: Cargo Bay

Black was everywhere. All of Sivity’s numerous charms, wards and fetishes were black. Given her mood it had seemed the logical choice. Black was the colour of night. Night was a time to rest. Thus the black would help offset her temper. She lazily scanned the hive of activity that was the cargo bay.
Rumours were rife. Soon hordes of refugees would be arriving. She wasn’t sure where these rumours had originated, but they’d been sufficient to get her and her small team posted to a large cargo bay to inspect airlock protocols. Sivity was completely unsurprised at the rigid adherence to safety systems that always ensued whenever a Security team was very evidently present. She sat on a packing crate and dangled her legs. She’d hoped that the assignment would prove more exciting; that way it would have distracted her from her ire.
She had come within a hair’s breadth of acquiring her own rather grand accommodation only to have it snatched away at the last second. As if that were insufficient, she had then been informed that she’d have to share her own meagre domicile.
Her casual gaze picked out a pair of Ferengi watching her with a mix of hostility and curiosity. Her apparent indifference to the audit only seemed to confuse them further. She freed her phaser and pointed it at them, clearly indicating that she’d noticed their scrutiny. With a jolt they scurried off. She replaced her weapon. She’d had no intention of firing it, but they didn’t know that. Fleet staff did not randomly draw a bead on civilians, at least the obedient, diligent ones didn’t. Sivity didn’t fit that mould and was pleased about it. Ferengi always had an angle or agenda; they’d no doubt read far more than was present into her impulsive action. That thought made her smile: no doubt her actions would keep them speculating for quite some time. She hopped off her crate and headed towards a freighter captain; perhaps she could start an argument. That thought cheered her further still.
