Really? All that?

Mission: Vagrants, Vagabonds, and Thieves
Location: Comedy, Cargo Bay

The Comedy had just cleared the fighter escorts to the Starbase, she pulled into the docking port assigned to the her and waited to be greeted by the security teams that had to be coming along. The Comedy has just finished the longest run yet from Sol to here, a mystery container to be delivered to the a ship in the system. Paid for in full before the journey ever started, Bishop and his crew were instructed not to open it or let it be searched. The Comedy's captain waited in quarters for the security teams to report for the search. As a former Starfleet officer he knew the procedure, so all the things he wanted to sneak by customs teams were easy.

Bishop relaxed on his bed and was almost asleep when the sound of the door swooshing open made his eyes do the same. Without moving he knew it was Brenton who entered the quarters. Bishop waved his hand to his husband, "Hi babe." He said in a somewhat sleepy state. Brenton wakes into the bed room and to Bishop and crouched next to him, "Hi Babe."he said as he kissed him.

Appiah at the airlock and then checked his PADD. He looked at his team members. "Okay, this one is going be a tough one guys, long trip sol to here, so assume they have some contraband on them. So, let's start digging."

Appiah and his team boarded the Comedy. Appiah quickly directed his men to start searching, Appiah wasn't the average starfleet customs officer, If something was hidden on the ship he would find it.

*Beep beep beep* "Captain, the customs team has boarded." The voice of the XO is heard.

Tapping a button next the the bed, Brenton stood back up and left for to take a shower. "Very well, I'll meet them in the cargo bay." Bishop said as he watched Brenton leave the room. Grabbing his jacket Bishop slowly left the bedroom looking back at the shower, when the shower was completely obstructed from view Bishop turned and marched to the door. "I'll be back in a little babe." He said as the door opened and he walked to the cargo bay.

Michael was looking at his PADD as he walked around checking the manifest with what there was in the cargo hold. His team was doing the same. Something did feel odd. Now and then he stopped and stomped his foot on the deck plating to check for hidden compartments.

He looked up as the cargo doors opened and saw Bishop. " Warrant Officer Appiah, please to meet you now, like I told other members of the crew, get out." After several years in the job this was an automated response for him and with SB332 it was becoming a habit.

"Dock at this station you agree to Starfleet regulations and the security rules of this station. Now if you have a problem with that please contact Lieutenant Commander Sean O'Connell, he'll really like to be bothered about small matters like this." Michael opened a container and got out his tricorder.

My ship will conform to all of the stations rules, however as the captain of the ship I have the distinct privilege to go anywhere at any time, no matter the situation." bishop said walking further into the cargo bay and to a container. He used the sides to prop him self up and jump on top of it. "If you would like to call your Commander to distract me to try and find contraband be my guest, there's none here," he said as he casually smirked to the warrant officer.

"Hope you got a few hours, because I think it's going to be a very long day, mister." Appiah checked a few stem bolts and raised an eyebrow "Still no idea what people use these for?"

"I've got all day." Bishop said as he walked over to a crate and jumped on top of it, he looked down to see the Id number and thought to ask,"So what kinda of stuff are you looking for bug?" Bishop said looking back up.

The warrant officer was used to being called a lot of things, so being called bug didn't phase him. "I'm just looking for things that are on the contraband lists." Appiah knew that wasn't much of an answer, but he wasn't inclined to go into details. With a PADD and a tricorder, he moved over to the closest shipping container. He scanned the identifier codes and checked the cargo manifest to compare. Then he opened the crate to verify that what was said to be in there was actually there, and of course to make sure that there wasn't anything in the crate that had been undeclared.

"Well I hope we can do this with no trouble, I'm a respectable guy never told a lie as far as you know, so how about you take my word and we call it a day, you might even get a few bars of goodies."Bishop said with a smile.

Appiah finished up with that crate and moved onto the next one. "Sorry, buddy. I'm afraid I can't do that. We've been having some issues lately of people trying to smuggle stuff onto the station. We've been told to do complete searches of incoming ships. It's standard procedure." He did pause to look up at Hairrell. "And I hope that wasn't an attempt at bribery."

"Bribery is such a nasty word, I prefer incentive to look away." Bishop smiled, he was counting on Appiah to do the stand weed search and not look under the deck plating or the bulk heads. "And besides as former Starfleet officer my self I think I can be trusted don't you? My career took me from ships to stations to Admirals all who liked me and I'm sure would help a certain Warrant officer out."

Another crate down, Appiah moved on to the next. Despite Bishop's attempts to distract him, he was still systematically moving through the various cargo containers. "As a former Starfleet officer, I would have thought that you would be above offering incentives to look away. I may not have gone to the Academy, but I still have personal standards. Besides, if you think I'm going to let another bomb get in here on my watch, you have another thing coming."

"Can you blame me for trying?, and I wouldn't dishonor my self by bring a bomb aboard the station, that's not how to fight a battle, but if you are going to be as paranoid as this I will give you a prize if you can answer my riddle. A cowboy rode into town on Friday, stayed three days, and rode out again on Friday. How did he do that?

Michael paused in mid scan to consider the question. "That sounds easy enough. There was probably time travel involved."

"No sorry but that's not it, I'm sorry but Cowboys didn't have time travel." Bishop said

"You have no imagination then. If it wasn't time travel, then what was it?" Appiah asked, beginning to lose interest in the conversation. He finished up another crate, moving closer to the one Bishop was sitting on.

"Well I'm thinking practically not modern day." Bishop said with a smile, " the horse is named Friday."He said

The warrant officer shook his head and groaned. He scanned another crate, looking over the manifest before opening it up and gazing around inside. Next he moved on to the one that Bishop was sitting on. "Alright, pal. I'm ready for this one. I need you to hop off."

Bishop looked a little shocked that the man would keep going, usually they would stop after the Starfleet officer thing."I'm telling you there nothing to hide here, so just pack up and save us the trouble," he said remaining on the crate.

"Sir, if you have nothing to hide here, then you'll have no trouble with me wasting my time looking. We've had too many problems lately with smugglers and terrorists. Please, get down from the crate, or I will have to have you removed."

"Very well."Bishop hoped off the crate, he knew the crate was filled with illegal ale. And once he opened this one all those behind it were filled with illegal goods.

Appiah scanned the shipping label with his tricorder and loaded up the manifest on his PADD. According to the shipping tags, this crate contained nothing but various textiles. But when Michael opened the crate to check against the manifest, it didn't take him long to find something out of the ordinary. "Well, well, well. What do we have here." The warrant officer pulled out a tall bottle filled with a bright blue label. Just to make sure, he scanned it with his tricorder. "Romulan Ale. I'm sure no one told you that it was illegal, right?" He kept digging around. "And it looks like several bottles. There are even some other illegal beverages in here. You've got quite a haul. No wonder you didn't want me wasting my time searching. I'm afraid I have to bring you in while we do a more thorough search." He tapped his commbadge. "This is warrant officer Michael Appiah aboard the transport Comedy. I have a suspect on suspicion of smuggling illegal goods, a Captain Bishop Hairrell. I need search and detainment teams."

Moments later, while Appiah made sure that Hairrell wasn't going anywhere, a pair of armed security officers entered the cargo hold. One of them stepped forward. "Captain Hairrell, we need you to come with us for some questioning."

Bishop looked at the guards," Well I guess that's my cue." Bishop smiled at Appiah." I guess Ill be seeing you more then." And with that he walked with the officers out of the room.

Appiah watched Bishop walk away with the other officers while a larger search team with better equipment soon joined him in the Comedy's cargo hold. He hated when they found smugglers. It always meant that it was going to be a late night.
