Mission: Vagrants, Vagabonds, and Thieves
Location: Archa IV

Archa IV :: University City ::

Samanthia landed her shuttle in its proper location on the Areospace port for approved off-worlder's shuttles and crafts. She smiled as she looked out over the open plains in one direction and the foothills to the mountains at her back and sides. She smiled as this was a beautiful area to have such a city built.

It was well planned from the beginning from the first streets and buildings to the exspansion of the areospace port. There was very few building that towered above the rest as most of the building were three to four stories high. They used the terriegn to their advantage and to blend in the buildings with their surrounding enviroment.

Majority of the vehicluar traffic was underground once you entered the city proper. Even the Mass Transit had their own tunnel grid bringing people and goods into the city.

Once checked through a minor disembarkation customs and luggage pick-up area, Smanthia stretched as it felt good to be moving again within the air conditioned building. She walked along pulling her wheeled carry-on bag, enjoying the walk. Pausing long enough at the currency exchange to pick up enough currency for her stay in Univerisity City.

She blended in with the majority of those around her, looking like a well to do business lady and student. Casual mixture of grunge and style that would be accepted anywhere as long as the person behaved themselves. She mixed in with a group of Archaians that was heading for the one of the Mass Transit Tubes. She was looking over them as they looked her over as anyone would do in a gathering of strangers.

Samanthia kept a pleasant expression plastered to her face as she returned nods and murmered polite impersonal greetings to those that gave one to her. She bought a ticket when it was her turn and moved on to the platform to join those waiting for the Light Rail Passenger train to pull into the station.

"It's becoming crowded near the station as more crafts arrives!" A Female spoke to her companion with a scowl.

"No worries. I'm sure the the Council will keep them in space and Federation of Planets will ship them off someplace else." The Male spoke with a reassuring smile as the train pulled into the station.

"But there is enough off worlders on our planet as is. They put in a military base over in the southern continent! What next? Expansion..." Her complaints were drowned out by others as Samanthia boarded the noisy train.

Samanthia didn't give it a second thought till she arrived at her destination. A large group of protesters with their signs and gear to stage a demostration at the Areospace port. She got off, blending in those that departed the train to work her way through the Demostrators. She frowned as a Star Fleet Ensign still in uniform was accosted by the Demostrators trying to make his way through them.

She sighed softly, and caught up with him. "Oh there ya are!" She wrapped an arm around his waist, "You should've called me! I'd come and picked you up!" She smiled as the Demostraters backed off, mistaking Samanthia and the Ensign for one of the locals who worked on the station.

The Ensign looked relieved, smiling at her. He recognized her as one of those Civilian V.I.P's that worked on the station. "Huh..."

"No worries! It was a good thing I came in myself," Samanthia interrupted him as she got him away from the Demostrators, who by now were more interested in getting aboard the train to head to the Areospace port for their demostration. "There ya go! Get rid of the uniform, Ensign. Less chance of being caught without any help."

He nodded with a smile. "Thanks Miss Akiashiro for the help." He was looking abit sheepish. "This is my first posting after my Cadet cruise." Pointing up to indicate he was stationed on the Starbase 332.

"Well, remember to blend in more. Try not to wear the uniform or get out of it as soon as possible." They parted ways as he joined up with his friends and her heading toward the ramp that led up into the city proper.

Samanthia moved through the city blocks heading to the Water Parkway, where she had an apartment rented to her and she kept payments up on. So she would have a place to stay while on planet. It overlooked the river that wound it way through the parklike city center. She could see the footbridges leading across the river just several blocks down from her place.

Ding ding! Soft chimes rang as she entered a Mom & Pop store on the Parkway. Looking through the selections, greeting a younger man behind the counter, she did a double take. "Where's Mr' Grubberfist?" She spoke as she gave a soft smile as she was curious to why Mr Grubberfist was missing.

"My dad is in back helping unload the stock for the store. Miss Samanthia." The young man spoke. "I guess you don't recongize me? Alexander?" He gave a smile. hoping she remembered him.

"No no..you can't be Alex. He's the grubby boy that played outside in the park and delievers my groceries." Samanthia looked at Alexander over.

"Well... In that case, you're gonna have to wait till Dad gets done with the stock, Sammie." Alexander looked disappointed at her not remembering him.

Samanthia gave a soft laugh, moving up to him. "It's good to see you so grown up. Alex. You're turning into a ladykiller," Samanthia spoke boistering his ego and making him feel better. "The usual package if you're delievering still." Laying the money onto the counter, along with the list of things she would need to survive the week. "Plus the key to the apartment."

"Sammie! Should've gave us a call and let us know you was coming!" An Older gentleman appeared from the back of the store, holding out her set of keys to the apartment. "I hope you don't mind having a roommate. We added to the family." Everyone looked up hearing the thumps and bangs coming from above them.

Samanthia tilted her head at Mr Gubberfist, puzzled as he spoke again. "Young Sally needed her space and the apartment does have few extra rooms. She promised to respect your privacy and leave your knickknacks alone. She's been keeping the place clean. Part of the agreement with us."

Samanthia couldn't fault him. Her's was the only apartment vacant next to his family. Beside it would be nice to a have a roommate. He could have easily evicted her and rented to someone else as much time she spent in the apartment. "I thank you for the heads up. I'm sure Sally and I can come to an agreement."

"Of course, you're invited to dinner tonight with the family." Mr. Grubberfist nodded, giving her no choice in the matter. Knowing she could give them first hand news of what gotten the populations in an uproar.

"I'd love to." Samanthia gave Mr. Grubberfist a hug, getting one in return. "I'm sure Sally and I'll get along just fine. Or Alex here will be moving in." Winking at Alex, getting a laugh from the three of them. She moved through the store and into the back stairwell that lead upstairs to the apartments.

When the store was closed, everyone used the main enterance to building. When the store was open, Tenants had the option to pass through the store, pausing to get the last minute stuff, groceries before heading on upstairs to their apartments or using the main enterance to the building.
