Coming Home

Mission: Vagrants, Vagabonds, and Thieves
Location: Carthage / SB-332

:: Carthage Infirmary ::

Erica laid there on the bed, listening to the various sounds that the bio-monitor was making. She scowled as she had a splitting headache. Last thing she remembered was looking out the viewport and then sounds of metal collapsing and the close-up view of the helm console.

She just laid there and then began to wiggle her toes and fingers. They seamed okay, yet if it wasn't for the headache, she would've gotten up and left. She opened her eyes and looked around the dimmily lit infirmary bay.

She could hear soft voices in the distance and her ears twitched as something was restraining them. She gave a soft growl and the bio-moniter chirped at the increase activity.

"It seams that our patient is stirring." A voice in the distance spoke, getting louder from her left.

Erica turned her head to her left and uit felt like shewas moving a brick. She reached up to find out why. She felt plaster around her head with her ears poking out through the plaster skullcap.

"Mmmmm... I hope you don't fly all of your shuttles like that, Miss De'Havean." The male voice in a jovial tone.

Erica looked at the Man in Medical Blues with a doctors lab coat on. "We was in a rush." She spoke softly tinged with pain. "Can you remove the dogs that is digging into my brain?"

"I'm sorry Miss De'Havean. You received a nasty conconsion. Hairline fractures at the point of impact." He picked up her electronic chart and looked it over. He made some notes after looking at his watch. "Right now we need you to stay awake."

"Only if you can stop the pain," Erica growled softly. Unintensional at the Doctor. Pain wasn't making her very friendly at the moment, even though she knew he was doing the best he could for her.

He smiled as he made more notes. "Raise light two increments" And the section she was in brighten just a bit.

She closed her eyes at the sudden brightness and stabbing pain that raced into her optic center of her mind and exploded outward. "Yeorrrererrrrrr!" Softly yeowled in pain.

She heard more scritching of the stylist on the electronic pad that contained her dossier. "Lights dim back to original setting." The doctor's voice spoke. She squinted through the slits of her eyelids. It was comfortable, but the dull thrubbing pain.

"We may have to do more scans. As of right now. You're off flight status until farther notice." She felt his hand give her shoulder a pat and squeeze.

She just laid back relaxing. There wasn't much she could do anyways. The Carthage crew had everying under control and now she was returning to the SB-332 as a passenger. Nurses came and went, talking to her and keeping her awake as long as possible till pure exhaustion over took her. They let her sleep for a few hours and woke her up as they took vitals. The headache turned into itching under the plaster skullcap she wore which made her even more irritable.

:: Arrival at Starbase 332 ::

The trip back to the starbase was pretty much wandering the ship and watching the stars pass by for Erica. She was bored beyond belief as she couldn't pull her shift on the bridge or park the Carthage in its assigned berth. She was transfered back to the Station Shuttle Department and Starbase Infirmary to continue her treatment.

She moved with the rest of the walking wounded to finish off their treatments at the Base Infirmary. She noticed that the population of the starbase had risen with more Displaced Peoples. She handed her medical records from the Carthage to onduty Nurses to get assigned a medical Doctor to finish out her treatments with.
