Mission: Vagrants, Vagabonds, and Thieves
Location: Brecon Beacons
Timeline: 06:00, Day after “Cool Down Training Session, Part 2”

Naomi was waiting as the Marines boarded two troops shuttles, she was one of the last to get on, when the ramp closed the shuttles lifted off. As they landed at the Brecon Beacons all disembarked the shuttles and formed up in three rows.

“Okay while there is no set time limit, the average time lap is clocked at 20 minutes for the whole course, so RIGHT FACE, Double time” she ordered as the Marines obeyed and all began running Naomi along with them.

It was a difficult course, but having done extensive training in this area Naomi knew it well, still like most of the marines she was finding it a little exhausting. As they reached their starting point “HALT” She ordered and checked her stop-watch.

"What is out time Major?" Smith asked slightly winded.

“Well Captain we only just broke the record *puff* *pant* 20 minutes was the Par, we did it in 19.95 minutes” She said to her XO, then looked at the rest. “Well done men we beat the Par score” She said and all either cheered or smiled but all showed exhaustion.

"If we beat the Par, who set the first record Major?"

“I was the one who did the first 20 minute run, back when I was only 16, our detachment has beaten that” She said with a smile.

Smiling "Excellent"

“Okay men take a break you have earned it” She said as all took off their packs and sat down.

Looking at Smith “so tell me Captain what is your preliminary assessment my leadership so far?” She said, saw his hesitation “it okay to speak your mind Captain, I cannot have an XO who will not speak their mind when it’s required” She said with a smile.

Naomi watched her XO put his pack down before he spoke.

“Well, you train your men hard, that usually keeps them alive longer; and you’re not afraid to lead your men form the front which inspires them and makes you popular with them. But you never really know what to think until you've seen someone lead in combat.”

“True I have been in combat, so I am not totally new to it” She said and looked up as two shuttles landed. “Okay people get on board the shuttles, also everyone has a day off tomorrow, so sleep in if you wish; get drunk tonight if you wish. From the moment we touch down at the Marine Training base you are on leave till the day after tomorrow” She said and saw the men’s faces light up a little as she too got onto the shuttle.

"You spoil us, you really do Major" Smith said.

"I know, its who I am" She responded.
