Mission:
Vagrants, Vagabonds, and Thieves
Location: Starbase 332 Holodeck
Timeline: Current
[OLD] (RECAP)
“At ease people” Griffiths said and stood at the table. “Now onto the mission briefing, even though it is a training session, this is to be treated as the real thing” She said.
“Good, now this is the building you will be entering” She began bringing up a holo of the building, and arrows appeared where she pointed. “Captain Smith half of your Squad will enter here back door, ground floor. The other half will enter from the roof. Now the enemy troops in the building are dissident Cardassian’s, they are Obsidian Order troops, so your task is to go in, and as quickly as possible extract the VIP on the third floor” She said.
“What of the hostiles?” A Marine asked.
“Expendable, Commands interest is only in extracting the VIP” She answered, looked to Smith. “Captain your mission brief PADD will have all our latest Intel on this building and occupants. Now the reality bit, while we are to treat this holodeck exercise as the real thing, the program is self adapting, as in it will throw challenges and curve ball actions against you, the holo safeties have been lowered to Stun, so they can and will fire back, the enemy have been given the firing abilities of all past Expert Marksmen Marines. So be warned, Captain Smith”
"Here I was thinking it was going to be easy" Smith said jokingly.
“Move your men out, your mission starts in ten minutes, good luck” She said and watched Smith leave. “Now back to my group” She said to herself and then left the room.
Griffiths arrived in the adjacent holodeck a moment later and pulled here troops to the map table, activating the three-dimensional hologram.
“You see this building; well it is the one that we will be attacking. Now we will split into two teams, thirty men to each team” She looks at another officer. “Lieutenant Allen you will take 30 men and go in from the bottom, remember to take out the ground sentries too. My team will go in via the roof” She said as two coloured blips appeared and moved in the manner she was speaking of.

Before they set out Griffiths tapped her Commbadge =/\= Griffiths to Smith and Allen =/\=
=/\= Smith online =/\=
=/\= Allen acknowledging =/\=
=/\= Slight change of plan, Smith your group will come in from the front, and make for the third floor where the VIP is. You will have Lieutenant Allen and 29 marines split off and head down to the basement, there she will have her demo experts plant explosive on the supporting structures, then will secure your exit on the way you entered, when all are out your team will return to the extraction site, understood? =/\=
=/\= Understood, Smith out =/\=
=/\= Ten-four boss lady Allen out =/\=
Griffiths rolled her eyes as she smiled at Allen's word use.
With the teams now split up Griffiths led her team quietly up a tree lined trail and to the back of the facility, there were only a few guards here, but all were sufficiently armed, the snipers in the group took care of the guards while the techs on Naomi's team took care of the communications unit. Now with the rear secure she assigned two marines to stand guard while she and the rest climbed the external ladder to the roof.
They managed to get to the roof safely and take care of any booby traps they came across, they approached the roof door scanned it and found nothing explosive was behind it, but it was set to an alarm system so the tech in the group go to work in deactivating it. Then carrying on as if they were out for a night time stroll "So anyone got anything planned for shore-leave?" Griffiths asked.
Looking at his commander "Do you always take things so lightly" Second Lieutenant Torvan Sorel asked.
Looking at him mock seriously "If I did not I would go insane" She paused as she put on a vacant look and looked around randomly "Wait, if I go insane, no I already am, or am I!" She said as if talking to herself and did not miss a panicked look on the Bajoran's face.
Chief Warrant Officer Gavin Sorensen spoke up "Relax El tee she is winding you up, you not been with us long so this is your initiation" He said smiling.
Sorel looked at the Non-com puzzled then back to Griffiths whose Bajoran node was not as pronounced as his and she was smiling, no she was laughing "wha!!?"
"Oh Sorel you should see your face, its a picture, but you took it better than Sorensen did, should I tell him what you did Chief?" She asked smiling looking at Sorensen.
Gavin suddenly found his uniform somewhat too clammy, pulling his collar briefly away "No please boss, I am still embarrassed by it"
"Well we do have you captured on visuals, perhaps I will show it to the entire marine cadre at some point!" She said and broke out laughing so hard she was gasping for breath, Sorensen’s face was even better than Sorensen’s, but he was also paler now.
"Please say it ain't true boss!" Sorensen was panicked now.
She looked at him and decided to relent, they did after all have a mission to complete "relax Gavin, I am just winding you up, the recording is safely locked up where only I have the clearance code for it" She said.
Sorensen looked around at the rest of the team all were looking at him funny, but he did seem to regain colour he had lost, Griffiths just shrugged and continued smiling and only looked away when their tech marine spoke up.
"Okay that was tougher than I expected, but we are in" He said and opened the old fashioned door and all followed Griffiths into the building.
What she found strange was the fact that the lights were on at normal level and no one seemed to be on the top floor, the building they were in was a seven story building not including the sub-basement. Naomi's team worked they way cautiously down the floors, it was eerie as the first top two floors were empty it was only when they got to the fifth did they begin to encounter the enemy all of which were silenced.
Now with the top three floors secured they moved down to the fourth floor and again more hostiles, but by now the enemy knew something was amiss and were more alert. But all the marines were expertly trained and quickly and silently took all on the fourth floor out; here there were some computers so their tech hacked in to see if there was anything worth downloading; there was nothing there worth taking the tech slumped he had hoped to get some juicy data but he was out of luck. After an hour and half Naomi's team made it down to the entry to the third floor and waited for Smith's team to get to the other side of the third floor.
