Mission:
Ill Tidings
Location: Archia Univeristy
Timeline: planet time : 2100 Hrs
Working through the her University Counselor, Samanthia was able to acquire extended time permit to be on planet along with her shuttle at the University Aerospace port as she required time in the University's Library and Archives to do her Doctorate Thesis in the field of Archeology. Down in one of the vast basements and book storage places that preserved old manuscripts, documents, journals and tomes of past authors of some of the more notable Archian Archeologist.
Looking through the various books, reading bits and pieces to see how they could be fit into her blossoming thesis when coming across a slip of parchment. She took it out from the book and looked at the faint writing on it. It was in the old form of Archian script. But with a Iconian hieroglyphic slant to it.
Her interest and curiosity flared up into overdrive as all thoughts and focus on her thesis research fled onto new course. Being an Off-worlder, she could get an extension on her time limit to turn in her Doctorate Thesis. But then she would have to present evidence and reason for the change in subject and direction of her research has taken. in the meantime she would have to become a student teacher for the professor while she researched the new subject. Being Iconian would bring some of the best Archeologist watching her progress, waiting to step in to take over the research for either prestige or fame. Not only Archians, but other species as well. Slipping the parchment into her case amongst the other research notes and scribbles. She even took the title of the book down to 'borrow' it when more prepped to do so.
Samanthia being trained in the arts of the more nefarious side of being an agent could easily get the book out when she was more prepped. She would bide her time to the proper moment to start her purloining books and other research material on this slip of parchment.
She resumed her search for the proper information that would help in her thesis. her thoughts wandered how she was going to get continued access to the University Library when her classes ended along with her visas and permits. There wasn't much other classes she could take in her new Major, unless she branched out into geology as a minor. But then that would limit her access to this section of the archives.
"Excuse me Miss Aikiashiro? We're closing up this section for the night." The voice of the Archive Custodian broke into her thoughts, making her give a slight jerk of surprise.
"Yeah.. thanks," Samanthia gave a soft smile as she quickly gathered up her satchel and notes. "Lead the way," stuffing her notes and the slip of parchment into her satchel, along with her pens and pencils.
She followed the Custodian out of the lower levels into the library proper. Seeing that the place was empty, but with a few of the other staff finishing up various minor tasks before quitting for the night. She gave a nod and exited the library into the cooling nighttime air.
She moved along the sidewalk with purpose, seeing fellow Archaian students in groups or by themselves as she was, going about their business. Some of them were carrying signs to support the Anti-Housing of Refugees on the planet.
She read a few of them as she passed by them. 'We have enough problem of our own! Why add more?!'
'Bann Off-worlders!' 'Planet for Natives!' 'Federation Star Fleet violating Their coveted Prime Directive!'
Seeing the last one, she gave a snicker at that one, getting a dirty look from the protester. She shrugged as they passed each other without any comment, heading to their destination. It seamed that these people of all ages were passionate about the future of their planet development. She had seen that kid before on the station. His parents were in Starfleet serving aboard one of the garrisoned ships and the starbase.
