What did they do to my ship!?

Mission:
Ill Tidings
Location: Main Engineering
"What did they do to my ship?!" Austin said, walking around the main engineering by with Lt. Tovan in tow, "No no... this is wrong. This isn't how I left it," He said, pressing his ear to an open bulkhead, "Listen to that," He paused. "Do you hear that? Someone changed all my calibrations! Those calibrations were perfect!" He smacked a hand into his forehead.
Alana was a bit confused over the entire display. She didn't spend a lot of time in the main engineering center of the station since she had been assigned, but apparently even equipment runs were turning into a production. "I'm sorry, Lieutenant. What seems to be the problem?"
"Problem? Problem?!? Yes! There's definitely a problem. Do you not hear that hum? That's not right. Ensign! What's the matter/anti-matter effeciency at?" He called to a young Catian standing near a console.
"Uhhm..." The man poked at the console until the necessary screen came up, "Uhm... it's running at 98% effeciency, sir!" The Catian called back, the happily added, "Well within operational guidelines!"
"'Well within op--'" Austin smacked his forehead again, "I had it running at 99.9% when I left! C'mon!" He complained.
"That's... but... 98% is pretty good, sir..." The young Ensign offered, sheepishly.
"But it's not beettttteeerrrr!" Austin replied, trying not to sound overly harsh. The poor kid was trying... he just hadn't been jerked up to Le Austin level of trying yet. He'd fix that. This was his department, and he ran a tight...
Except that it wasn't. Not anymore. That thought took all the wind out of his sails as he visibly deflated and looked around Engineering with a heavy sigh.
He turned back to Tovan, "How's the new guy?" He asked, his tone somewhere between down-trodden and nervous.
Alana watched the exchange silently. She had always thought that she ran a tough engine room, but Le was taking it to a different level. Then again, she thought, she was in the process of tearing out years worth of old repairs and replacing them, so she probably wasn't really one to judge.
"Honestly, I've not really talked to him much. I've not been here that long, but I've spent most of my time on the Carthage," she explained. "I don't think he's been here long either. Lieutenant Commander O'Donnell was in charge before, but I think his specialty was in structures."
Austin sighed. "Okay... you got stuff to do," he said, trying to sound gracious. "Thank you for letting me rant... you," he said, pointing at the Catian, "You're mine. We're doing a full inspection and walk through to present to the CEO when he gets here. Got it?" he asked, marching off without any further ado, grabbing the Catian by the shoulder of his shirt and heading deeper into engineering.
Tovan watched the Bajoran storm off with the Catian, almost speechless. The whole exchange had caught her off guard more than anything else. It was hard to appreciate what the previous engineer may have done when she wasn't there to work with said previous engineer. She simply shrugged her shoulders and got back to work. She was still on a strict time table if she was going to have the Carthage ready to go.
