Colony Arrival

Mission:
God Complex [Incomplete]
Location: Unknown Colony
Erica moved about the surface of the moon after beam out. She was pleased with herself as she moved to the squat landing legs to check them out as it held the ship. Everything looked good and showing no signs of leakage or damage. She kept an eye on the others to see what they would do.
She spotted several younglings peeking through the foliage at them and the ship wide eyed. She smiled, "We have guest watching us. No threat yet."
Price scanned the area with her tricorder. "There's definitely someone watching us. They appear to be children, human children, actually."
"Human, huh?" Kelly was shocked enough that there was anyone alive in the colony, let alone humans. "How many of them?"
"Looks like three of them, sir. Two boys and girl," Price replied, studying her tricorder.
Erica finished up her post flight checks and rejoining the group. "Kittens.. Must be the adults are nearby."
"Let's keep them holstered for now then." Kelly replied, noting that everyone's hands... or paws... seemed to be hovering over their phasers. "They just seem to be keeping an eye on us."
Allie turned around, surprised to see the others reaching for their phasers. She only kept her hands on her tricorder. Turning back, she pointed away from the ship. "There's a settlement of some sort about two kilometers ahead of us. I'm detecting lifesigns, but only a few hundred. It's not a very big settlement. But it's definitely the source of the distress signal."
"Let's go see what we can do to help these people out. No weapons out, no sudden moves, remember we're here to deliver assistance. The last thing we want to do is give a bad first impression and have these people refuse our help. If we don't get their shield operating properly, then these people are all dead before the year is out."
[Moments Later]
Kelly took point as they reached the outer limits of the settlement. He stopped and pushed his hand through his hair as he took in what he was seeing. "Holy crap. Is that what I think it is?"
Erica looked over the carefully landscaped town. She took careful notice of several adults looking them over as the children gaped through white picket fences that bordered neatly groomed yards. "Almost like being in someone's fantasy on the holodeck." Majority of the towns folks were looking at her with suspicion as she was of a totally different species. A Bipedal Feline in uniform.
A little girl shyly approached her, looking up at her, wide eyed. She came to a stop just out of her reach. Erica slowly went to one knee, eyes darting around at the Adults. Erica reached into one of her pouches and pulled out trinket. "Hi." Giving a soft audible purr as she held out the trinket to her. "whatcha name?"
"I'm not suppose to talk to strangers!" The girl spoke eyeing the trinket and her. Edging back a few steps, then scampering off when one of the Adults called to her get away, back to her yard where she came from.
Allie continued to scan, but it was pretty clear where the transmission was originating. On a building that appeared to be the settlement's town hall was a large subspace antenna, probably the only way that people in the town were able to contact the outside world. Another large building at the top of a ridge appeared to be the source of the shield generator, though from this distance she didn't have any way of noticing what was wrong.
She put her tricorder away and started to look around the surroundings. It all felt surreal to see signs of advanced technology in such an anachronistic town. "Sirs, this is definitely the source of the distress signal. We just need to find out who sent it."
"Holodeck simulation is right." Ed said looking around him carefully. "Looks like the epitome of what small town life was like back in the 19th and 20th century. Bet everyone here knows everything about everyone's business." He shook his head slightly in mild disbelief. "Whoever sent that signal is probably in the town hall building, so lets head there first. After that we'll come up with a plan of action."
Erica moved on with the group. Taking note of the route they took. She easily stood out amongst the humanoids that lived here.
"This is insane." Kelly said, awestruck by the quaint white picket fences and neatly kempt gardens. It all looked like the very picture of small town America but instead it was out here on some god-forsaken rock. What was going on here?
