Mission: Pandemic [Incomplete]
Location: Brig, USS Carthage
Timeline: Late evening

[ON]

It wasn't difficult to locate the telepath who had attacked Corrine Steiner. All that security needed do was perform an active scan for any males who were medically in shock. He was alive, but well pulverized by whatever hit him inside the shared dream.

Ens. Steiner watched as a redshirt pushed a newly occupied cryo-stasis unit into the brig watch-room. She asked, "You really think he's that dangerous?"

"Standard procedure, ma'am, with a teep. We don't know if he can influence the conscious mind or not. Your statement and passive lie detector test gave us probable cause."

She stepped closer, "You have an ID on him?"

"Search result returned a classified alert. Probably an undercover fleet investigator." He gestured for her to accompany him, "Ma'am?"

Corrie followed, "I hope that doesn't give him a free ticket from accountability."

"I have no idea, ma'am. I hope not."

"Thank you, crewman." On her way out, she turned back and scratched thoughtfully at the side of her neck, "I wonder if people in cryo can contract viruses?" At seeing the guard's eyes widen, she chuckled, "Just kidding!" Once out of earshot, she muttered to herself, "...a little bit."

Back in her quarters, she glanced at the clock and sighed heavily, "Alright, let's try this again." Upon laying down, thoughts about Jasmine preoccupied her. The had the impulse to sit up and take tech bracelet in hand, "Private Log... What have I gotten myself into with Jasmine? My first impression was that Shokirians had some kind of cultural codependence upon others. But this... symbiosis... it goes way beyond that. It's physical, and it's at a distance."

Corrie sat back to relax, "Her visit to my dreams... was she able to do that because of my own dream-condition? Are we unique? Or can all her kind do that? I'm not at all sorry she showed up, but I still feel freaked out by it. Jasmine is so disarming with those big doe eyes. Yet... she still scares me."

Corrie shook her head in frustration, "Why me? It doesn't seem natural! Wouldn't a symbiont want to pick a strong, healthy host who's got life all put together? Hmh... I'm thinking like a husband hunter. Oh, man... I guess... maybe Shokirians must really be Mother Teresa's in the galaxy... ... Close log." Shortly after laying down and closing her eyes, Corrie was fast asleep.
