Mission:
By Dawn's Early Light
Location: TBD
Sleep had not come easy for S'er'in'e, while he took a small measure of solace in the arrival of the last few things from the Homeworld it did little else to distract him. He tried reading in his quarters, a stroll about the station, even watching the storm again where Samanthia had taken him before. She liked him, intimate with him and though assuring as that was her absence weighed heavily on him. If all his information was correct Samanthia was back from her morning class and in Warp 12.
Part of him told him to leave her be at her place if work but her comment regarding liking to see him again continued to bellow loudly.
*******
S'er'in'e walked into Warp 12 and headed to the bar, he was known to the staff which considering what he was and appearance he was a hard one to forget. He asked for Samanthia and was pointed to the rear. Peeking inside he saw her busy with some ledgers. "I hope I am not interrupting?"
She looked up after making some notations. "No... What brings you here looking for me?" She was curious as she closed the ledger she just finished. Standing up to move around the desk, motioning him to enter and have a seat.
"Actually I was." S'er'in'e replied as he took the offered seat having wrapped his tail about his waist to do so. "I was wondering if you would like to join me for dinner, in my quarters this time?"
Samanthia smiled softly, as she leaned against her desk. Giving a glance at her day planner, making a few funny faces as she read. "Around what time?" Looking back at S'er'in'e.
"Tonight, 19:00hrs acceptable?" He asked, knowing that she was a busy woman he knew there was a real possibility that work would override his offer but wanted to at least try.
She looked at the dual clocks and looked thoughtful. "It's acceptable," giving him a warm smile. "But I will have run soon afterwards. I have my University classes. Two hours at the most, then I'll have to leave." She looked at him with an unreadable expression. Yet her eyes held a warmth in them.
"If another time would suit, one which does not impair your rest prior to studies or departure, I do not mind another time." He offered. He'd not considered her classes when he suggested dinner, but then he didn't know her study schedule.
"I wouldn't be much of a college student if I couldn't go without sleep for a few more hours." Samanthia smiled mischievously. She was growing fond of this Big Caitian. "Maybe I can get a Tourist Visa for you since you have time and no commitments in the foreseeable future."
Saamanthia stood up, spin around, causing her skirt to flair out, showing a little more of the upper leg. She leaned forward and closed up the ledgers on her desk and shutting down the console. "If you're worried about time. We can start now?" Looking at him over her shoulder as she stood up. She spinned back to face him.
S'er'in'e had to admire the wide variety of clothing which Samanthia held yet a decent but also appealing attire available to her. Already he had seen a number of articles on her that did her much credit to her appearance and he liked the sight of. "As you wish." He smiled and the tips of his fangs appeared, Corrine had mentioned to him not to hide what he was, his arm out to one side to let her pass him as they went to a slightly earlier than usual dinner but dinner nonetheless.
Samanthia placed her hand on his arm ladylike as she sashayed from Warp-12. Feeling on top of the world. Her staff smiled at her and whispered rumors between themselves. From the more daring customers were placing bets on how long the relationship will last.
A Man sat in the shadows where he could observe everything. He scowled at seeing her with a non-human. Which he hid behind his drink as he finished off his drink. He took his exit out another door to lessen the chance of being seen by her.
A Turbolift ride and a few corridors lengths and the pair reached S'er'in'e's Quarters. The door opened at his proximity but he stopped to permit his guest entry. His room was very well decorated, drapes and hangings broke the room into sections in a comforting way but hid the dull standard coloured walls every room in the station came with. The doorway to his bedroom, kitchen and bathroom each held a hanging to the open door but the bathroom door could be closed if required. A floral scent laced the air, emanating from two bunches of flowers near the viewports.
"Please, make yourself comfortable." He walked past her to the Kitchen and prepared for her a drink, the same as he gave her when she made dinner only this was not replicated, this was fresh from the bottle unopened from the Homeworld. "The real thing?" He offered. The glass was much smaller as it was a potent drink.
Samanthia being a connoisseur of wines and liquors, gave it a gentle sniff as she twirled it in the glass. She took a smallish sip to taste and give it the chance to delight her with taste and smell. "We could get rich off this drink," as soon as she swallowed the sip. She settled on one of the Caitian designed chairs. "You need help or not?" She watched him with interest after taking in the layout and décor of the room.
"I will be quiet fine, thank you." S'er'in'e replied with a slight bow of his head as he stood over the kitchen counter and began preparing the meal. The dish he had in mind was mostly meat based, the latter part of it he'd have to make sure she could not see as he'd need to use his claws to tear the meat from the bone, shredded meat always went well. The rest was greens and a variety of other ingredients, sauces and spices in containers for her to pick from if she wished. "I hope my quarters do not appear unfavorable to your eyes?"
Preparing the meal didn't take long, as time went on the last objective was to let the meat sit until shredding. While it sat he prepared the table, he replicated cutlery for his guest but collected his own from the drawer and placed beside respective plates. Several napkins were available, two small bowls of water with a towel accompanied with another two sets of cutlery. All that was left was the meat. "Please." He spoke as he pulled and chair out. His task was to seat her which would enable the counter to obscure her view as he worked. A cloth and water awaited his return which he would use to clean before using his claws.
Samanthia smiled, "Very unique in the use of tapestries," As she moved to and sat in the chair offered by S'er'in'e. She had noticed, before se sat down, that there was no knife to remove the meat from the bones. She figured that he used his claws. She kept a pleasant soft smile on her face as she thought. ~~Well if I get sick, I know whose going to become a fur rug in my bedroom.~~
"So, self taught? or school trained?" Turning her attention to S'er'in'e, while she sipped her drink. She could feel the alcohol content of the drink loosening her up a bit.
"Trained." S'er'in'e replied as he returned to the counter and began his work on the meat. Every now and then he would look at her, not only hoping that she was enjoying herself but assuring himself that she could not see what he was doing. "Part of our training includes aspects of social and potential home life. Females are trained differently but for the most part the two are the same." With a final wipe of his claws the meal was ready and he brought it to the table. "Shredded meat with a mix of vegetables as I was not sure what you liked. A variety of sauces of different flavours developing in strength from your left to right and the spice powers are the same in flavour layout. The green drink clears the palete if you should wish to."
He sat down opposite having wrapped his tail about his waist to do so.
"Sounds delicious," Samanthia smiled as she helped herself to her portion of the meal. She looked over the spices and took a mild one. She sprinkled a little of the spice on the meal. "Smells real good." As she took a bite of the meal offered. She nodded her appreciation at the taste. She savored the meal, semi-loss in thought. "Sounds like you had strict upbringing. Parents or lived in a crèche'?" Sounding curious about his youth.
"Crèche." S'er'in'e replied. "Our parents still come see us but we only got to see them if we performed well. Gradually as I aged I moved around to complete my training so the last time I saw them was before advanced pilot training." He spoke as he ate some of his meal. He saw that she seemed to be enjoying the meal which was a plus for himself as he worried it might have been too much. "Other castes disapprove of this because they believe parents should take a more active and dominant role in the raising of children but they are ignorant of many factors of my caste thus we continue as our ways dictate."
Samanthia listen with interest as S'er'in'e spoke about his youth. "So it was pretty much training from dawn till dusk?" Setting her eating utensils on the empty plate and finished off the drink. "I'd gone crazy if I couldn't ride a wave or two." She leaned back in her seat. "Or have personal time." She kept her hands in a way she could keep an eye on time to avoid appearing rude.
It didnt take long for S'er'in'e to finish eating, he only slowed his pace so that Samanthia was not the only one eating. Once done he wiped his nouth and with a damp cloth out of view wiped his claws again. "I hope you found the meal enjoyable." He rose and began to clear the table. "Another drink?" He offered. He knew time was against him so there was precious little of it to waste.
"I appreciate the offer," She gave S'er'in'e a warm smile. "I have to fly in a few hours. A soda or fruit drink would be nice." She stood up and helped him with the dishes. She moved gracefully as she helped. "Any word from Akiashiro about the job in Security?" Keeping the conversation on neutral grounds for the moment.
"Nothing as yet." He answered and he finished what he was doing. Replicating a drink for her he came to a point where he'd noticed yer tone of voice. Did she come to regret what happened? Was he too much? Was the situation overwhelming? "Is everything alright, is it about earlier you regret?" He asked softly but in doing so his voice very feline in sounding.
"No I don't regret earlier, you big furball. You can stop worrying about your performance. It was very enjoyable." Samanthia smiled as she reached up and gave behind his ear a soft scratch. "It was something I needed at the time. And I imagined you needed it also." She stepped away from him, looking at the plate she held in her hand. Looking at the Caitian intricate motif on it. "Your Caste crest?" showing him the motif. She looked up at him. She felt comfortable around him, looking up into his eyes.
"It is." He replied when he saw what she was holding. "Truth, Integrity and Loyalty and Faith."
He placed the last of the washing up away. "If I may ask, might I be able to see when your classes are, I do not wish to burden you with offers to spend time together when you have classes later and have to rush away."
"Sure. You have a computer console in here?" Looking over the room as she moved to settle on a comfortable settee.
"Of course, on the table behind the red and green hanging." He pointed but it was hardly needed, the hanging was hard to miss.
Samanthia moved over to the table behind the red and green hanging. She activated the console and brought up her file and accessed it. She brought up her scheduling. It looked very chaotic since she had to deal with family gatherings, Akiashiro Merchant Consortium meetings, Warp-12, The Dive and schooling. She printed out just the Schooling schedule. "Okay, here you go." She held out the paper flimsy to S'er'in'e. As she shut down the console and moved back to h settee she occupied before.
"Thank you." He replicated himself a Caitian drink and then joined her on the settee. "May I ask what you are studying? " Had guessed it was something important as it took her off the station often which left free time at a premium in light of Warp-12 and The Dive.
"Geology and weather. It's a good to know how the effects of earth movements and weather have on finding historical places." She tucked her legs up next to her, between them both. "How do Caitian feel about off-worlders mates?" looking curios at him.
"No differently than if the mate was Caitian herself. She is treated no differently, afforded the same rights and privileges, customs and traditions." He replied. "Many of my kind have found mates that were not themselves Caitian. Klingon, Human or any species, there is no difference to us."
Samanthia nodded as she continued to look over the hangings. It was one of those moments of awkward silence. "Do you surf?" Looking at him again.
"I am afraid not." He answered, he felt that something was amiss but unsure as to what. "If I may ask, how would your family take to a non Human Mate?"
"Dad would try to dissect you. Mom would want to run a bunch of psych tests on you. While interrogating you to the nth degree." Samanthia spoke softly with warmth. Seeing his expression was priceless as she gave a soft laugh. "They would be interested in meeting you. They are after me again to have more grandchildren. The Akiashiro's would try to use you to expand their Merchant Business onto Cait."
Everything as he expected but one caught him off guard. "You would wish for offspring?" Not that he was opposed to the ideal, he had no children but he was caught off guard by how casually she brought up what to his Caste was a more select topic.
"I'd love to have children once more," Samanthia spoke softly, giving S'er'in'e a smile. "Are you interested siring children of your own?" She stood up and moved gracefully over to the replicator and made herself a drink.
"I am, on my Homeworld the males...don't have a choice in the matter, what the Caste requires comes first. I was just surprised that is all." He watched her move to the replicator. There would be risks of having children with him, life threatening ones but he could discuss that if the relationship even got to that stage.
"Is that tradition and culture talking, S'er'in'e?" Samanthia spoke softly, finishing off the drink she had made herself. "What do you... not your culture... you yourself want?" She recycled the glass through the replicator. "I'll let you think on that."
She moved next to him and placed a soft kiss on his nose. "I had a wonderful time. The meal was exquisite." She left S'er'in'e's Quarters and made her way to the Akiahiro Deck, where her shuttle awaited her.
And think he would....
