"Welcome aboard Starbase 332," the young Ensign said as I stepped onto the Starbase. A kind welcome so far for the new press agent. This is not necessarily headline news but since I am writing this it is headline news to me. As I will be here for awhile sharing information through the freedom of the press, I thought I would use this article as an introduction, a way to introduce myself to you my new neighbors among the stars.
I am a veteran of Starfleet, I served on several ships, as an Officer before taking a shore command, and then retiring. I have a vast love for reading and the art of words and what words can do. I come by this love honestly, mostly due to my parents who ran a small antique book shop and repair shop. There is something magical about holding a book, the feel, the smell, just the experience itself can be breathtaking. Anyway before I begin rambling I will be using this art form of words to share information on a daily basis or as frequently as time allows.
I had the privilege yesterday to spend some time on the Promenade. Anyone who has ever traveled knows the best stories begin or are heard on the Promenade. So here is the news flash Klingons are still aggressive, I witnessed one test the transport airlock system by inserting a Ferengi. The Ferengi are still a prideful, conniving race, and humans well I think we are still the most twisted of the lot. With that being said I believe it is nice to see that all remains the same in our world.
I would like to spotlight local businesses in the Promenade and throughout the Starbase on a weekly basis. So if you would like a feature spotlight written about your business please feel free to contact me and remember the wheels of the press are greased with alcohol and handshakes.
Thank you for taking time to read this introductory article and stay tuned for more in the future.
