Mission: By Dawn's Early Light
Location: SB332 Hospital
Timeline: Dayshift

[ON]

Dr. St. Louis had stood in the heart of Starbase 332's hospital complex. She hadn't even met the staff yet. That time consuming ritual wouldn't impede operations, though. She closed her eyes and vocalized with synapse, ~Computer, accumulate species profiles of everyone associated with this starbase, fleet and civilian.~

A second later, main computer beeped confirmation of task completed.

~Computer, estimate types and extent of battle casualties associated with a severely damaged starbase.~

The computer beeped again.

~Computer, cross reference necessary medical resources necessary to treat casualties in that scenario.~

The computer beeped.

~Computer, do we have enough?~

==NEGATIVE. TYPES AND QUANTITIES OF MEDICAL SUPPLY ARE INADEQUATE. RESULTS ARE SIMILAR FOR BOTH SCENARIOS, SYNTHESIZERS BEING AVAILABLE AND UNAVAILABLE.==

Rick opened her eyes, staring off in thought. She then instructed, ~Computer, request that our long range comm array send a request for deep space carrier link to Areegas Relay 1090.~ She slowly paced around, surveying the intensive care areas.

Finally, Computer notified, ==COMMUNICATION LINK IS ESTABLISHED. LINE IS OPEN.==

~Anna?~

(ooc: click on Anna's dialog to hear her voice.)
"Hello, Ricki. How are you doing?"

~Well enough, Anna. I am preparing contingencies in case this starbase comes under attack from the Sojourner fleet. I'm short of essentials. Can you help me with this list?~

"I have received your lists. There are currently one hundred and ninety three civilian resources which can supply these needs. I have now sent requisitions for them to be collected and shipped to your starbase. Are there also non-medical resources with which I can assist?"

~No, I think that will do it for now. Thank you, Anna.~

Nurses stood outside, peering in at the woman standing acenter the room with her eyes closed. "Doctor?"

Ricki closed out her connections and opened her eyes. She turned to them with a kindly smile, "Yes?"

They exchanged introductions and then offered, "We'd be pleased to offer you the grand tour."

She shook her head with pleasant expression, "Not necessary. I've already examine the facility."

"Oh, okay... Um, we're currently in a priority situation, preparing a defence against Sojourners. I'm sure you'll want to survey the emergency resources?"

Ricki closed her eyes, and shook her head lightly, "I've already done that." She pointed to a wall screen, and it began displaying her work.

The nurses stared in disbelief. "Thats..."

"What I will need help with is coordinating with resource distribution throughout the starbase. I'm sure that if we are attacked, this starbase will go into an isolating lockdown. Getting emergency help to different sections might become problematic."

Collecting their wits, the two nurses invited with wide eyes, "Well, then! Um, yes! We're... we're ready."
