Mission: The Art of Survival
Location: Hanger Bay 6
Timeline: Current

S'er'in'e had completed pre-flight checks of the Aerowing craft selected to ferry the Captain, the ship was ready for its long 3 day non stop flight to Cestus III. He'd packed a few things for the trip, a change of uniform, a few things to keep himself presentable, cleaning kit, cutlery should the Captain wish to dine with him since he couldn't use his claws in front of her like he could with Samanthia and some light reading the pass the time.

His effects stowed he walked out of the fighter to do one final visual check.

"Lt.Colonel S'er'in'e to Yeoman Talelle, please inform the Captain that her craft is ready for departure."

"Thank you, Colonel," the yeoman replied over the open comm. "I'll let her know right away."

Since she had already packed, all that was left for Von was to hand command over to Commander Soleck, the station's new executive officer. She was a little apprehensive about leaving the station in someone else's hands with all that had happened lately, and especially with someone new to the station. Soleck was well qualified for the job, but it still made her feel like a parent handing her child over to a babysitter.

It didn't take long for Von to reach the hanger to meet up with S'er'in'e. "Colonel," she called out to grab his attention as she boarded the craft, "Are we all ready to go?"

"Captain." S'er'in'e turned hearing his name and afforded the customary slight bow in greeting. "We are ready to depart, we should arrive at Cestus III in three days and 7 hours." He answered as she neared. "May I take that for you?" Offering to take her things.

Liarra hesitated just a moment. She knew enough about Caitian culture to know that it was a matriarchal society, and that the men were practically subservient to the women at times. And because of this, she worried if his offer to take her bags was part of this cultural upbringing, or him just being nice. She decided to not be so uptight and handed him her bag. "Thank you, Colonel." While S'er'in'e stowed her luggage, she took a seat at the copilot's station. "Have you ever been to Cestus III before?"

S'er'in'e noticed the hesitation, a problem for being observant of females so strongly. Perhaps this shuttle trip would be an opportunity for the Captain to learn more about Caitians and the ways that govern the society they live in on the Homeworld. He stored her things just inside her quarters before returning to pilot the ship out. "Twice before, routine assignment lay over before moving on. I did not get the opportunity to see much." He started up the crafts systems and prepared to launch. "We are ready to depart Captain."

"I've only been a few times myself, usually for meetings like this one. It seems that I never make time to really explore either." Even though S'er'in'e was the pilot, Von helped finish the pre-flight checks. "Launch control, this is the Malta, requesting permission to disembark."

"Permission granted, Captain," the voice on the other end of the comm answered. "You are cleared for departure. Have a safe trip."

That all said and done S'er'in'e coaxed the craft out of the hanger bay and they were at last on their way.
