S'er'in'e returned home after the briefing with Captain Von and a long preparation time of the Aero craft chosen for the task. It seemed she had not been used in a small while but she responded to all the checks and systems reviews S'er'in'e conducted. Now that it was concluded he had to inform his Mate of the trip, he'd be gone for just over a week, maybe a little more depending on how the Captain does in her debriefing but also it was his chance to put forward his case for additional fighters to be allocated to 332. He waited at home for Samanthia to arrive, he wanted to let her know of the trip so that she didn't worry about where he had gone.
Samanthia entered the apartment, as usual, the place was low lit the way S'er'in'e liked it. Which made it hard for her to notice whether he was home or not. She was carrying some outfit still in the thin plastic wrap of the dry cleaners. She kicked off her shoes by the door, letting them lay there where they had fallen and moved onto the bedroom to hang them up. She glanced at the time. Taking note that her mate was going to get off work in an hour from now. She hummed a soft tune as she hung up the clothes. His Dress Uniform. And then hers.
S'er'in'e having finished his brief with the Captain now had to let his Mate know that he would be departing in the morning, he felt bad about this because of her medication, Samanthia needed him especially since she was taking the medication for them and he was being taken away from her. When he walked to the door and it opened he walked in, his eyes immediately adjusted to the dim light as he liked it so but the scent, strong and dominant as it was indicated his Mate was home.
Hearing the door open and shut to the apartment, Samanthia smiled and exited the bedroom. She walked up to her mate and hugged him, "Hey.. wasn't expecting you till later," She was wearing one of his uniform t-shirts which was like mid-thigh shift. Her hair slightly damp, freshly brushed out. "Everything ok?" Looking up at him with concern as she reached up and felt his forehead to see if he was running a fever.
"It looks good on your." He leant down rubbing his cheek to hers. "Just a little warm, a busy day." He replied to her question. "How was your day?" He asked standing upright once more.
"An easy day," Samanthia rubbed her cheek back against his. Then stepped back to help him take off his uniform. "Decided to call it a day. Even the Dive is quiet, which usually meant there was less fights happening."
After several parts of his uniform had been removed he felt cooler. "I have to go away for a for a little while, Captain Von has been called to Cestus III and she has asked I be her pilot." He gave a brief pause has he stretched slightly. "3 days in transit there, one or two for her debrief and then return. A week at the most."
Samanthia listened to him, as she folded his uniform up. "Leaving today or tomorrow?" As she handed them back to S'er'in'e. "Can't she take De'Havean?" A bit pouty as she went and settled in her cushioned seat that you tend to sink into, and curled up in it.
"I guess not, but tomorrow morning is when we leave." S'er'in'e saw she was unhappy about it, especially since he knew she was in the throws of her medication, she needed him here, pregnancy was a two person thing. He dropped down onto his hands and feet like a feline and went to her resting his head on her thigh looking up at her.
She looked at him. "I'll be fine. Just take care of yourself," she leaned forward gently grabbing his cheek fur and tugging him up partially close to hug him. "Sorry. I'm being just selfish. I know Fleet is going to call you away." Burying her face into his neck fur.
He was gentle with his weight but still lay upon her with some of it as he crawled up onto the sofa with her. He was physically large enough to lay upon her and cover her almost entirely from view but he knew that would be uncomfortable for her. "I will return as soon as the Captain is finished, besides, I have duties here to perform." He purred.
"I know Love," She liked it when he did that. But today her body felt like furnace. She gently pushed him away. "I need water, could you please get me some?"
Sliding from the sofa with the push off she gave him he walked to the kitchen area and gathered a glass of chilled water and a pitcher with ice inside. "Here." He offered the glass while placing the pitcher on the nearby table top.
Samanthia sips it, relishing the coolness as she drank. "I'm ready just about ready to throw the rest of the treatment pills down the commode. I'm irritable, hot flashes. But on good side, it's firming up my physique." Samanthia smiled at him. "Thank you."
"We knew there may be side effects, these treatments are temporary and you need not keep taking them for long, only until you are pregnant." S'er'in'e took a seat next to her but enough away from her so that his natural body heat was not felt by her. "I have been meaning to ask you but I was not sure how it was best, I don't mean to be rude but when is....your best physical time to become pregnant." It was obvious that it was a difficult question for him to ask.
"My optimum time would be two days from now. Then next cycle will be a month after that." Samanthia looked him in the eyes and gave him a smile. "
"Before I leave?" He smirked hintingly, if thats what it could be seen as if it were not for his thick fur coat.
"After you leave, if you're leaving tomorrow." She spoke pressing the glass of ice cooled water against her forehead. "I should've just let nature take it course."
"If you think it would be best why not resume the medication after I return?" S'er'in'e suggested, without him around he didn't want her to be more uneasy without him there to comfort her.
"You know that is a good idea." Samanthia smiles at him. She reached out at petted his tail. "What will you be needing for your trip tomorrow?" She swung to sit up. The t-shirt riding up her legs.
"A spare change of clothing, some reading material, cutlery in case the Captain wishes to dine and that shirt." He pointed to the one she was wearing. "If I am to be apart from you, something with your scent on it will make the absence easier to deal with."
"I'll make sure this t-shirt ends up in your travel kit." Samanthia smiled warmly. She stood up and paced a bit. Poured herself a glass of water from the pitcher.
"If it would help, you can turn down the temperature, it will not effect me but may ease your comfort." S'er'in'e suggested, a fur coat was an advantage when it came to temperatures of cold.
"Naw it'll pass." She looked at him as she stood there taking small sips of water.
He would have held her but she was hot hence the water, being hugged by a large fur coat would not help. "A cool bath or shower maybe?"
"Sounds like a plan. Go ahead a fix something." Samanthia spoke as she passed by him. She ruffled the fur on top of his head, "I'll be out in fifteen or twenty minutes." She disappeared into the bed room.
He smiled and went to the Kitchen to try his hand at.....finger food. He remembered when she showed him this but had to pull himself back because Samanthia was Human, she'd want something light and not a whole meal in one very large sandwich. The food was assorted meats, cheeses and other accompaniments but the choice was there for her to choose. He set everything on plates and the table set to receive them.
The twenty minutes turned to thirty, then forty minutes. Soon forty turned into hour. What started out as a cooling bath, turned into warm scented bubble bath soak and she fell asleep luxuriating in hot water. Her hair was tied up in a rough bun of hair. His t-shirt that she worn was laying across the top of his neatly packed travel kit.
As time went on so too did his curiosity as to where Samanthia was. He walked into the Bathroom to see her in the Bath, she was breathing fast asleep but hardly a safe situation to do it. Disregarding his clothed state he leant forward putting his arms into the water with the aim to lift her up. He was surprised to find the water warm in light of her wish to cool off.
Her legs were straight, yet relaxed with feet flat up against end of the tub and hidden in the bubbles was an inflated neck ring/pillow that kept her head above the water even if she turned on her side and lost the leg support.
As comfortable as she may appear to be, sleeping in water was risky business at best. The warm water seeped through the fur on his arms as he moved them to support her. "My Mate, you should not sleep in water and food is ready." A wet discolouration had risen up his arms on his clothes as they absorbed the water he was elbow deep in.
Samanthia looked at him, sleepily. "Mmmmmm.... I'll be out soon," sitting up, exposing the inflatable pillow/neck ring. As her body was covered with bubbles from the neck down. She hit the plug and the water began to drain out as she turned on the shower and removed the pillow/neck brace.
Now that she was awake he removed his arms from the water, removed his jacket and with a spare towel dried his arms. He wondered if her tiredness was also part of the treatments she was taking but didn't mention it. He held out a larger towel for her once she was ready to step in to a wrap with. "Here."
Samanthia turned off the shower and stepped from the tub into the towel. "Mmmmmm...." Then securing it to herself. "Love you," In Caitian.
"And I you." He replied. It was easier to speak his own language, he found it hard to speak standard. He pulled out a vest and put that on to replace his now wet jacket. He returned to the living area and set his plate with some food. He had set aside a plate and cutlery aside for his Mate when she was ready to join him.
Samanthia came out of the bedroom wearing a her favorite fluffy bathrobe and settled at her seat at the table. She smiled at her mate and made a sandwich from the foods presented. "Looking forward to your trip to Cestus?" She spoke and then let the UT translate her words to Caitian for S'er'in'e.
"I would rather stay with you here on the station and work towards a family." S'er'in'e replied as between bites of food. It was the honest truth as he saw it, it was his aim at least.
"You're the one stayed in Fleet, My furry mate," She teased him lightly, finishing off making the sandwich and taking a bite of it. She chewed and swallowed, "Besides the station needs them fighters. You can accomplish a lot, while Starbase Commander will be focused on other things and may forget or put in a half arsed attempt. Where you can bring the weight of the situation on them." She popped her fourth treatment pill, grimacing as she took a drink. "Blah!"
"I thought you were going to wait till I returned to resume those?" He asked. "Or are you fond of the extras it provides." He had noticed said effects.
"Just incase you get delayed leaving or I'm early." Samanthia smiled at him and then focused on her eating, enjoying his company.
"I see." S'er'in'e replied as he finished his meal. He was full however but didn't want to start clearing unless Samanthia was likewise. "Would you like more before I clean up?"
"I'll clean up. You finish packing and gather documents you will need. I want you to have best possible chance at succeeding." She smiled softly at him. "There is a fresh dress uniform hanging in your side of the closet in the clear plastic wrap. Your ear pieces are highly polished and packed."
"Thank you." His hand danced lightly over her back as he past, his tail across the backs of her thighs without even looking back he walked into the Bedroom. As promised everything was set out ready for him and his uniform was ready. He wasted no time getting dressed, his ear sheaths in place and bag packed up tight and ready to go. He stepped into the doorway, he didn't want to leave Samanthia at this important time but she was right, he stayed in the fleet and duty called. "I am ready."
She stood up from the table and moved to him, giving him a quick hug. "I'll keep the porch light on and the bed warm."
Farewells given, parting affections made S'er'in'e picked up his bag and departed for the Shuttle Bay.
