Mission: What Lies Beneath
Location: XO's Office

Leo sat at the desk looking over the feeds surrounding the ship that was towed in, it took a while due to the power being off and thus the structural integrity field was down, gentle movements were needed lest they tear the ship apart. Mason still had the ship sectioned off from the local traffic but that didn't stop some people taking a peek with sensors. Everything the reports told him indicated that the ship was dead in space, plenty of fuel on board but everything down to the emergency generators were offline, even the ships capacitor cells had been discharged.

The whole scene didn't make much sense, a ship dead in space, airlocks wide open, cargo bay vented to space and no external damage to speak of. Pirates would have taken the ship, looters too and while there was no sign of the vented cargo there was no reason to just leave a ship. Sooner or later Captain Von would want answers, no way she would permit a derelict ship to loaf outside the station for days on end.

He sent a message to Medical, Operations and Security to assemble three officers each for an away mission to the ship, suited for EVA since the ship was depressurised.

The Security Chief had sent an Officer with experience in Starship Boarding actions, Lieutenant Junior Grade Endar Gabbak. An Efrosian. The Officer followed his orders and arrived with his EVA Suit as well as a Tricorder and a Compression rifle.

Medical had sent a pair, one nurse and one Medical officer both with backgrounds in science. However for this briefing Talia herself came up to the XOs office.

"Earlier today a ship was detected outside of regular shipping lanes, CAG patrol reported she was adrift. No power, no lifesigns and all outer compartments open to space which vented the ship." Leo called up what information he had. "Because of this we cant beam in, the team will egress via shuttle, investigate and ecure the ship. Restoring power so the ship can be pressurised might help operations on board." Leo paused.

"When power is restored, link the computer systems with the station so we can piece together what happened, any questions?" Leo looked around.

"No indication what happened to the crew from what we've been able to scan so far?" Talia asked, casting a glance at Commander Luciano

"Nothing, with the ship vented to space it had to be deliberate. There are safe guards in place to prevent things such as this happening and that being the case we have little reason to believe we will find anyone let alone a body for examination." Leo replied.

When he saw that nobody else had anything to say. "If that's all, have the teams meet the shuttles in Hanger 1 in 15 minutes, they will EVA via shuttle to the vessel and begin.....dismissed."

Leo watched as everyone left, a small smirk as he watched Talia leave too. While they were getting teams ready for the EVA he prepared the official paperwork so that action lined up with reasoning just in case this all went south and an investigation followed. Everything hinged on information and the ships computer would have it all, they just had to get to it.
