Sort of a cure

Wytara dressed in a full BDOP Non-Atmo Suit, caught Winter's attention and waved her over to a quiet section of quarantine, where three positive patients had just died, and the nurses had stripped their beds. “What I'm going to say, stays between us. I might have a sort of a cure, I need five patients who are near death, and I need you not to say anything to anyone.” Wytara stated, as Ilyce appeared in her own full BDOP Non-Atmo Suit.

“I take it you're going to try it?” Ilyce asked.

“Five positive patients who will die unless I do.”

“All marines.” Ilyce noticed the additional tags written above the beds. “All not in a position to say yes.”

“Would you accept it, knowing if you didn't you'd die?”

“For bloody heck, do it before the CMO appears.” Winter stated, standing back and watching Wytara inject the first one, moving along the line, until she'd finished number five. “How long till we notice something..anything?”

“Ten to thirty minutes, it depends on the extent of the internal damage.” Wytara answered. “If questions are asked identify them to me. Since I have UFOP permission to use what I'm using.”

“But you're not going to tell me?” Winter asked.

“A BDOP nanite based on the Borg nanites. It's been tested, there's no effects, other than it will kill off anything it finds hostile and shouldn't be there, and it should attach itself to internal damage and start to repair it. There's no assimilation or any side effects, the nanites simply stay in the body and anything hostile, it attacks. As far as Borg assimilation, the BDOP nanites will counter the Borg ones, which reminds me I have to check in with the CEO.”

“I've got this.” Ilyce announced, leaving Wytara to head out.

“And it has been tested?”

“Does it matter if it has or hasn't?” Ilyce asked. “The point is they're about to die, and Wytara may have the cure, or something better than the cure.” Ilyce stated. “If you think they'll turn into Borg, forget the whole purpose of the BDOP is create things which stop the Borg, and don't bother saying they're destroyed and gone.”

“Saying there destroyed and gone makes people feel more safe. But I'm not that stupid to think they're gone.” Winter answered. “I'm just worried that some people may not appreciate being used as a guinea pig.”

“Atleast they'll be alive.” Ilyce answered. “Wytara is going to talk to the Blackwidow about injecting all her battalion.”

“Has she?”

“She hasn't said anything, so I'd say not yet.” Ilyce answered.

“Dr's we have an increase in blood pressure and respiration in five patients.” One of the nurses announced.
