The Prodigal Son

Mission:
Weathering the Storm
Location: Runabout Veluwe, Enroute SB 332
Timeline: Before the Storm
Sean sat back in his chair with a plate of food and with music pumping through the system. It was the first time in a while he was alone and he kind of liked the solitude. He was close to the station now. He knew the sector where he was headed, it was where he made the biggest strides career wise and gave him a reputation of being a more then able officer. Starfleet Security had already sent a message ahead to the security department.
As his console beeped he put down his plate and killed the music. He raised an eyebrow as he saw that a storm was brewing. He opened a comm to the station, boosting the power and on a lower band frequency so the signal would come through.
"Starbase 332, this is the Runabout Veluwe, please come in, I repeat, please come in. I need a landing bay or I am just gonna land this thing on the hull. " he said with a small grin.
"Veluwe, you have 2 minutes, I can not give you any longer." Leo replied as he reached across the Ops table to reply. Sooner or later they would have to close the hangar doors and seal up the station to protect the ships within.
"Understood, One Starfleet runabout coming in hot." Sean said. Sean quickly increased speed and moved the runabout at double the suggested speed. He was an okay pilot so knew what he was doing halting the ship which was flying at half impulse a few thousand kilometers before the space station and then cutting speed to quickly glide the vessel in using only the thrusters to adjust pitch of the runabout. If it wasn't so busy it looked like a thing of beauty as O'Connell glide the runabout into the Starbase.
Sean quickly docked the vessel still using it's own momentum and grabbed his bag and shut the runabout down he walked towards the airlock and looked around.
Sean spotted the dockingmaster and cleared his runabout and head for OPS. It was like coming home in a long while. last time he was here the station was a mess. He entered a turbolift. "OPS" he said.

A few minutes later Sean entered Operations he straightened his uniform and cough.
Leo looked up to see the officer, this must have been the individual that just landed.
Captain Von was juggling reports and status updates when O'Connell stepped in. There was enough chaos in the room that it took Liarra a moment before she even noticed that someone was standing near her. She looked up at him quickly, just long enough to see his face. "Just a moment, Commander," she said, turning back to the PADDs in front of her. Liarra paused before looking up at him again. "Commander! You made it aboard. I'm sorry there's not more celebration to your return, but as you've probably noticed, it's a little hectic right now." She extended her hand in O'Connell's direction. "How have you been?"
"Busy mostly, Starfleet sent me all over the quadrant. Bit weird getting a normal posting again as Chief of Security, mostly worked as head of a Sector Security. Good to be back. "Sean smiled and shook Von's hand. "So I'll be doubling as Tactical officer on one of the ships again?"
"I'm sure we can work something out," Von replied, grinning. "For now, we have our hands full here. We'll get you properly settled in as soon as we can, but in the meantime my suggestion would be to head down to security and get updated on what's going on. It's good to have you back."
"Oddly enough feels like coming home. Any updates on current situation, I know I can wing it and bluff my way through a meeting, but any information you can provide would be of benefit. Probably also need the marines and have a chat with the medical staff. In ion storm cases we might get some bumps and bruises, so I would like to have a few medics on hand."
"The large feline in Green was the stations MCO, might give him a few minutes to situate the Admiral before seeing him." Leo replied as he was running checks that the outer hull was closed and sealed. The last things to close were the fighter bays and maintenance craft docks. "We are locked up Captain."
"Alright," Von replied. "If any other ships come into the area, do our best to ward them off. There are no more rooms at the inn."
