Beginning of a Protest

Posted on Sat Feb 26th, 2011 @ 3:29pm by Samanthia Akiashiro

Mission: Shore Leave - Archa IV
Location: SB-332 :: Decks 586 - 587

Samanthia moved through the station on one of her rare breaks from the club and lounge of Warp-12. Smiling softly as she moved along gracefully lost in thought, yet still aware of her surroundings. She came to a stop as she spotted an electronic sign offering shuttle trips to the planet that was close by the station.

She paused as she looked over the schedule for the shuttle runs to and from the planet. Seeing brochures, she snagged one for herself and moved on her way. She was going to check this out as she stuffed the brochure into one of the many pockets on her dress.

Once back in her club, relaxing at the bar, where she could everything and even down into the lower level of the club. She looked over the brochure, taking note that Starfleet personel had priority over Civilians and dependants.

"This ought to add fire to the civil unrest on the station," Samanthia held out the brochure to her bartender on duty.

He took the brochure and looked at the part that Samanthia had pointed out. "No worries, I'm sure things will get sorted out soon..." pausing as their attention was drawn to main concourse.

It seamed that civilians had turned out in mass for a demostration against the new Fleet Command structure. There was chanting and general yelling anti military slogans and Anti-Government speils that brought murder and unwanted trouble to this sector of space.

Samanthia shook her head and leaned against the bar, with her elbows on the polished top and cheek against her palm. "Secure the cash and drinks,"ordered calmly to the bartender.

She gotten a nod from him as he went about securing the cash and making sure bottles were secured in the cabinet behind the bar. She stood up as patrons, both Fleet and Civilians edged apart from each other. Some of the Civilians heading out to join in the march.

She stood up, looking over the remaining patrons, "you might as well go, while things are still peaceful. I need to close this place up." Watching them nod and flee out into the moving crowd of people as they gathered on the main Promanade concourse.

Samanthia moved to the doorway of her club and stood on a stool to see over the crowds. From her point of view, all the Promanade decks were filling up with Civilians, making it near impossible to move about without bumping into others.

All it would take a wrong word or guesture to set the crowds off into a full scale riot. She couldn't believe it as trouble seamed to follow her. She was trapped in her establishment along with her employees. But half of them had deserted their posting to join in with the protest against the new Fleet personnel. And the loss of Civilian Only Controlled area. Especially the Donitello Family had lost several decks already to the Fleet to house their personel and dependants.

Akiashiro controlled 1 complete deck/level 1403 and so far no Fleet personel had moved in to that level. And it was by far the quietest and more orderly. At times it seamed like a ghosttown as now everyone was up on the main promonade levels to join in the solidarity of Civilian Rule of the station and Civilian run Customs, leaving the fleet to deal with actual invaders bent on destroying the station and security patrols of the area, not to interdict merchant ships plying this sector of space.

Eric and Frederick slipped into the club from the service corridor and made their way to the front to stand next to Samanthia, "Well ole girl...what do you think of this?" Frederick spoke up as he helped Samanthia off the stool to stand on the floor, by picking her up after he placed both hands on her waist and picking her up and moving her to the floor.

"I think someone is playing with fire that wouild get burned if this continues much longer...." Stops as an angry surge of noise flared up in the distants, momentary hushing those nearby the club

"Oh Crap," Eric muttered peeking out the door onto the concourse towards the angry swelling of noise and ruckus...
