Making Major Plans
Posted on Wed Nov 18th, 2020 @ 3:18pm by Lieutenant Commander Felicie Rivero & Colonel S'er'in'e
Mission: After the Storm
Felicie had a PaDD in her hand as she headed toward the office that General Lowe's Major had taken as his center of operations for the duration of their stay on Starbase 332. Something else that wasn't sitting well with her. What business could the General possibly have on the station that would result in his being there long enough to require this kind of setup.
Pausing at the door, Felicie straightened her back and reached for the chime, drawing a deep breath while she waited for admission.
"Yes, come." A male voice could be heard from the other side of the doors. When the doors opened it was clear that some things had already been set up and just needed connections, even a few partition screens had been put up blanking off large areas of the room from view of those walking in. The Major had his tunic off opting for a vest style uniform attire. A glance up from his desk noticing the Commander as she walked in. "Commander Rivero, glad you could make it."
Felicie smiled as she stepped through the doors. "An invitation as commanding as yours, how could I refuse?" she quipped as she cast a glance around the room, taking in a number of details before her gaze finally settled on the replicator. "Do you mind if I grab a coffee? I'd kill for one right now if I'm honest!" Her exclamation was followed with another sweet and charming smile.
"By all means." The Major spoke as he indicated where the replicator was. He knew she'd know, that wasn't the point however. "While you are here though, if you have a moment I'd like to talk with you about some things that I have read in the stations security reports?"
"If it's all the same, Major, I don't know that the security reports are any concern of yours," Felicie stated before turning to the replicator. "Raktajino, double strength, double sweet."
As the tall glass mug appeared in front of her she picked it up, blew across the rim and took a small sip before sighing with content and moving to a visitors chair at his desk. "Now, what do you need from me to make the General's stay more comfortable?"
"When the General asks me to look into something, it because my concern. The only difference here is I'm offering you the choice to talk to me or to someone less....understanding." Meaning the General. "As for what the General needs, secure data links, a secure communications channel for his use, he will need access to station logs, departmental logs, arrival and departure logs for the last 6 months and criminal activity reports for the same period."
Felicie remained silent for a moment, sipping her strong coffee and contemplating. "I can give you secure data links and secure communications," she offered before pausing for another sip. "Anything more and I'll need something official to break confidentiality laws, I'm sure you're aware and all," another sweet smile as she took another sip.
"I'm so glad you brought that up." He spoke and it was obvious by his tone that Felicie had gone exactly where he wanted her to. "The General has made arrangements for Captain Von, Commander Luciano, you and myself for a meeting at 10:00hrs tomorrow morning in Von's office." He remembered at that moment to chase up confirmation from the Captain's Yeoman about receipt of the request.
"Sorry cupcake, no can do. I have no notification of such a request, if I did it would have been cleared by my office and right now I have two weaponry certifications to run among other things. Tell you what, how about Friday? I can probably swing Friday morning..." she paused, taking a sip of her drink and then pursing her lips as she contemplated. "Though, thinking on it, maybe Tuesday next week is better? I can pencil y'all in about ten in the A.M.?
"Commander, I don't think you're fully aware of the seriousness of what his presence means, but be there for the meeting and you will be clued in, in detail." The Major took a seat knowing that even at this moment the General was in civilian clothing mingling with the populace and off duty officers asking all kinds of probing questions about the goings on on board the station. "I'm letting you know this as a professional courtesy, I don't have to mind you but one way or another this meeting is happening and you will be attending, the General is not a man you want to fight with, his tunic buttons up over a great many other duties and many of which he is acting on right now on this station. It would be unfortunate if I were to inform the General that you were....unavailable." The Major smiled, the game was set before she even walked in, the cards were stacked in his favour and he had all the chips to play with. "How does that sound....Cupcake?"
Felicie took a sip, then another, the whole while mindful of the silence between them. "Then, Cupcake, you'd best tell me what's so important that I need to be rescheduling my calendar to fit you in given y'all showed up without even the courtesy of a warning," she countered, her voice simple and calm as she spoke, yet there was a clear determination veiled in her tone. "If you want to be disrupting my schedule you best have a solid explanation."
"You will get one at the meeting, from the very General himself I can assure you." The Major spoke as another notification turned up from another officer that was hidden from view behind a partition.
She paused, pulling the elastic from her hair and fluffing her fingers over her scalp, more so to relieve the headache she could already feel coming on. "The General doesn't control Starbase 332. Now, unless you have something that rescinds the orders of Captain Von, I have plans. Is there anything else you need from me, Major?" she asked, the emphasis being on his rank.
"I'll be sure to let the General know of your....cooperation." He would at that too, in every detail. "As for anything else, No. You are dismissed."
"You do that," Felicie offered with a smile, holding the cup up between them. "Mind if I take the cup? It's a long walk back to my office," she added with a smirk before turning on her heel and walking away.
With a lift of the hand caring not for the cup, he had things to do and playing games, one as enjoyable such as this had to give way to other more important matters.
