Mignon wanted to meet the senior staff personally before she met them professionally.

One of her first stops was to meet the chief Security Officer. So she walked into the room and paused to watch people work for a minute before stopping a young Ensign. "Excuse me, where is Lieutenant Dell?"

The Ensign pointed to a Trill that seemed to be attempting to juggle seven PADDs at once, quite obviously busy, though only a moment later her gaze shifted from the items she was holding to the new arrival.

Casually stacking the PADDs on the desk she was sitting behind, Kili slowly stood up from her position and approached the two, a small smile playing on her lips as she extended a hand toward the Lieutenant with the words, "Kili Dell, ma'am, how can I be of assistance?"

"Mignon Mejia," Mignon replied, shaking Kili's hand. "I just arrived and I'm trying to meet the other senior officers."

The trill gave a quick nod of her head, beaming a smile toward the betazoid. "Ah, right... I do recall reading about your arrival. You'll have to excuse the fact that I didn't come greet you in person. Take a leave of absence and the whole department goes upside-down," she said, turning to shoot a glare at one of the cadets who had stopped working to listen in on the conversation. "A pleasure to meet you," the lieutenant added as she directed her attention back to Mignon, vigorously shaking the woman's hand.

"That's quite all right," Mignon assured her. "I can't expect everyone to drop what they're doing because I'm here." She grinned back. "And my position is a lot more flexible right now."

Dell looked confused for a moment, but didn't ask the question that was starting to form in her mind. Instead, she simply gave another nod and responded, "So... besides a meeting, would there be anything else that you're looking to get done while here?"

"Well... You're overdue for your annual psych eval," Mignon admitted. "I know there are extenuating circumstances, but I'm trying to get everyone up to date."

The trill nodded her head slowly before answering, "Well... things are a bit hectic at the moment, but if it can't wait, we can certainly schedule something at your earliest convenience."

"Well, there's can't wait and shouldn't wait," Mignon admitted. "If you've got a few minutes now, we can get started. The written exam takes about 30 minutes."

Just then an Ensign ran in, demanding the Chief's attention.

"Looks like you're needed," Mignon said. "I'll see you later." With a nod, she turned and headed back to her office.
