O'Connell?

The promenade was busy as usual. There where some light shrieks and people being pushed aside as a Dopterian dashed through the crowd followed by a tall human with brown hair holding a phaser.

"Stop that, Amadan*" the man shouted. Sean always used his native tongue when agitated.

Sean tackled the dopterian crash landing straight into another Lieutenant wearing the same colour uniform as Sean. As the Dopterian was being taken away Sean helped the man up.

"Sorry about that, Lieutenant?" Sean looked at the man and smiled then realizing he still had his phaser in hand he holstered his weapon.

"I Am lieutenant Marcus O'Connell Nice to meet you " Marcus said.

"Sean O'Connell, Chief of Security. So your the other O'Connell." Sean said with a smile.

"Yes I am the O'Connell I was assigned here as the chief ops officer" he said.

" So what part of the home country do you hail from or are you from the American or English branch? " Sean looked at Marcus a bit intrigued


"I am from the english branch but I was brought out to america " Marcus said.

"So not a real irishman? Well you have the name not the benefit of being born in Ireland. I hope you know the history behind our surname?" Sean said looking at marcus

I know the history" Marcus said he also added " I was apart of Starfleet SSF ( Strategic strike force) I was the chief Operations officer aboard the USS Oppenheimer under command of Captain Wegener" Marcus said .

"I mean the history of ' Daniel O'Connell' the Emancipator one of my forefathers and probably one of yours. We are of Irish descent and it's a proud heritage we have. I served most of my time at the academy. Now I get to put theory in to practice." Sean smiled.

"Well if you ever need to have help from my department give me a call. You clear the ships to dock and I have to check them for contraband and do security checks on passengers etc. Also if we work together it cuts down on the paper work and avoids slip up I think you would like to run this station smoothly so we need to work out routines etc."Sean removed his phaser and checked it's power setting and then put it back in its holster.
