Mission:
The Mystery Men of Mira
Location: Marine Hanger, Deck 121
::On::
The tarp covered cargo took up a good portion of the deck marines were standing by waiting to get the probes sorted and stocked. Sergeant Major Dunmore was grinning as Gifford walked in after being summoned to the deck.
"Well sir, our little friends have made the trip." Dunmore walked over to the large composite container and lifted the netting. "We have Three hundred of them."
The Major bent over to inspect the shiny tubes. "Tell me the sending and receiving packages came with them as well and I'll buy you dinner."
"Yup, sure did. We also inherited Three technicians to repair and monitor the sending units for them." Tully closed the lid as Gifford stood back up smiling. Dunmore gestured towards the Techs who were standing by the bulkhead surrounded by boxes of equipment. Gifford walked towards the civilians. He was promised assistance but really didn't expect it.
Jon held out his hand and introduced himself and the Sergeant Major. "Welcome to Star Base 332, I'm sure your journey was long. We're going to get you settled in and treat you like the VIP's that you are. As you know your mission here is highly classified. That means you cannot talk to anyone about it. For the first week you shall be restricted to this deck and well guarded. I don't need to remind you that you are very big targets right now and it's in your best interests to follow these conditions verbatim. If there is anything you need just get with my staff and you will have it. Your monitoring equipment will be placed here in our battle control room and that's were you'll be working."
The techs were similar to small confused animals.. The trip had been the first time for them and Gifford had received little more than smiling nods from them in response...
"Very well then, lets get this equipment put together. Tully, Move those containers to the armory and get them ready. I think we shall activate some deck sensors around them and double up on the standing guard. For what those bundles cost I certainly don't need them getting messed up."
"Yes Sir." Tully spun and gave the word to the marines to get to work. The Techs shuffled off behind one of the Adjutants on the staff to get settled.
Jon took a slow stroll back to his office. Smiling all the way. If those probes did what they were programed to do there would be complete panic in the sector shipping lanes for weeks... Freighter Captains would see major storms they would have to avoid and Star fleet patrol vessels that operated at every turn.. Chaos.
