Dr. Daniels turned back toward her patient when Gunning and Reinhart left. She began to work on his shoulder more.

The Klingon groaned as the woman tended to his shoulder.

Melissa responded. "They say Klingons are excellent warriors, but I don't see many Klingon Doctors." She noted.

"Somebody needs to develop the technology that our military takes for granted. Despite the uselessness of it against you people."

"Come now Doctor. You and I both know the Federation would never attack first. We're both Doctors, and we tend to follow reason more than most people would." Melissa noted.

"I can see, from speaking to you that your crew did not attack us but I have been part of a treacherous, war-seeking empire for too many years to believe that one ship acted alone to attack an outpost in your space." Bord said.

Melissa spoke, "We're Scientists Doctor, just because a something looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and walks like a duck, does not necessarily mean its a duck. There is always a possibility it may be a shapeshifter disguising itself as a duck. Lets not discount the Romulans in this mix. They may have used a Federation Starship to attack you in an attempt to sabotage Federation/Empire relations." She let him think about it. "Consider what I say carefully Doctor."

"I shall." He said as he rolled onto his side, taking great care to avoid his wounded shoulder. "I shall."

The sickbay doors opened and Cal entered, a small smile on her face. She nodded to the human Doctor but offered her hand to the Klingon. "I'm Lt. Callaigh Roland, Doctor." She didn't immediately give her ship's position, hoping to gauge the man's reaction before bringing it up.

The Klingon did not turn over. He remained on his side with the injury continuing to smart. He had no interest in two women knowing that he was lying in pain with no hope of avenging his dead comrades.

"I'm just here to talk with you." The young woman smiled, but with very little humour. "Ask a few questions about what happened down there. Do you mind?"

He grunted a little. "Go on. Ask your questions but I've told your Commander Gunning everything I know all ready."

Cal perched lightly at the end of the biobed, one hipped. "You may have told Commander Gunning," she said evenly but not crossly, "but I am not him, no matter what the medications our dear doctor's giving you may make you think." Her smile held a hint of humor. "Could you give me the overview? Please?"

"We were attacked. Attacked for what I can only assume was the technology we were developing. I cannot tell you any more or..." he hacked out a cough, "...I would be held for trial on Qo'onos and stripped of my honour."

Her eyes travelled over the Klingon to Daniels and raised an eyebrow. Was this man going to make it back to Qo'onos? If not, he didn't have a whole lot to worry about. "Okay," Cal began taking notes, "you were attacked. Without breaching your security, can you tell me a little bit about where the crew was concentrated at when this occurred? Or how you maybe didn't notice the ship's approach?" Cal may have been supposed to help this man, but she was after a few answers of her own first.

"The Bird of Prey was on a resupply run, bringing us food and equipment from the Empire. On the ground, we scientists were concerned with our work, as usual. I have no idea why the approach of the Federation ship went unnoticed. I assume the Captain of the vessel thought Starfleet were just checking in." The old man chuckled. "We were in your space, after all."

"Who's space where matters very little when such an incident involves peaceful individuals, I'd think Doctor." Cal pointed out as she made some notes. "Any thing else that you can tell me that may be of interest or aid in figuring this out?"

"I can't remember much more, Counselor." The man said as he patted a ridge of his forehead, making sure he was not sweating before laughing through another hacking cough. "Don't think me so naive, Lieutenant. I know a counselor when I see one. I do remember one thing though. Their eyes. They were cold. Almost dead. As if there was nothing... nothing there."

Bord rolled onto his back and coughed once again before his eyes closed, slipping into a deep sleep. It was just then that the inter-ship communicator chirped. "Bridge to Sickbay. Better come up here. I hope the Doctor has given us something to go on."

Callaigh's eyes widened briefly as she shot a look at the CMO. 'Dead eyes?' she mouthed and shook her head quickly as though clearing a moment of confusion. That WAS noteworthy, and she noted it. Whatever the case, if the Doctor was truthful about his involvement of what had happened, he deserved some answers.
