Mission: The Mystery Men of Mira
Location: 14th Battalion Control Center Deck 121

The finishing touches completed, Chief Engineer Eito inspected the work done in the last few days. He was certain the items asked for by the Marine Commander were indeed met and surpassed. The room was still sparse but very functional. Four computer consoles. One for each company set in a semi circle around a large stationary Holographic map table. On the other side a command console that could view and override the entire system if need be. He was told the Marine XO would be manning that station. The only serious change was the security portal to the center. The codes for entry to the room would be encrypted by the Marine staff. Reggie needed to be sure everything was good as this would be the last time he would be allowed to enter unless escorted in for maintenance.

Reggie Eito turned as major Gifford and Two of his staff entered the room.

"Greetings Major. What do you think?" As Eito waved his arms widely offering his work.

Gifford stopped. "Well this was exactly what I envisioned it to look like Eito. Wonderful. You have outdone yourself. And very quickly I might add.'

[Private Quarters/Deck 121]

Naomi exited the lift on deck 121 and headed directly for the 14th Battalion Control Center after making a slight detour to her newly assigned Private quarters where she dropped off her stuff before going on.

Upon finding the 14th Battalion Control Center she entered and drew looks from all those present.

"Ahem... Marine Captain Naomi Sylan Lanypa Griffiths new Marine Executive Officer reporting for duty Sir" She said saluting the Major.

Gifford returned the salute. "Welcome Captain, Please allow me to introduce you to Captain Rhodan, CO Of Fox Company, Command Sergeant Major Dunmore and Lieutenant Reggie Eito, the stations Chief of engineering."

Turning to those present "Captain Griffiths has been assigned to the Fourteenth Battalion as its first Executive Officer."

Looking around the room, "Happy to meet you all, we will have time to get to know each other better, but I do believe I came in at a start of a Mission briefing?" She said.

"Your timing Captain Griffiths is excellent. The Chief Engineer was just showing us the new Marine Operations control center"

Looking around the room again taking in its decor.

"Nice a hint of Starfleet Classic mixed with the sparsely furbished room you would find in a Klingon house, only difference is there are no trophies of conquests" She said stepping up to the table with a smile to show she was making a joke.

Several staff members chuckled. "Yes it may need a few touches here and there. But it will serve us well in the future." Gifford Smiled. "I would like to have this place manned as soon as possible. The Company Commanders will select their own controllers for the unit. Captain Griffiths, I expect you to approve all those assigned here. Lets make sure their clearances are up graded and backgrounds checked."

"Yes Sir, will deal with it after this briefing if possible" She said.

"Very good, Captain Rhodan I'll need you to get your unit field ready in the next Twenty Four Hours. I lose bag drag would be good. We need to make sure one of the Companies is ready to roll out if requested by The commander.

"Yes Sir." Rhodan made a few notes on the padd she was holding.

Reggie walked to a console. "If I could get you all to enter your personal authentications here you will be set. It will just take a minute and then this is your baby."

Gifford authenticated and stepped back. "I can't thank you enough Lieutenant Eito for your support on this task. I promised not to annoy you anymore."

John waved his executive officer over to the console next.

Nodding Naomi stepped up and typed in her authentication code and looked at Eito "all done" She said and stepped away to allow the next Officer to enter their code.

Gifford stood by his executive officer. "It's really good to have you here with us Captain. Things were starting to get a bit hectic around here."

Looking at her CO with an incredulous look and she had to use a witty sardonic comment. "Whatever gave you the impression that things were getting hectic around here Sir?" She asked "Also its good to be here Sir, thanks" She said with a small smile.

Gifford was scheduled for a meeting with the stations medical team. Looking down at his padd he realized he just a few minutes to make it..

"I hate to run off on you people but a pressing appointment is creeping up on me. Captain Griffiths can you please take over for me here?"

Looking totally lost "Take over in what way Sir? I just got here and have not as yet had time to orientate myself to this base, what is it I need to do?" She asked.

"I just need you and the Gunny to get the center secured up, post sentries outside the door. I would set a schedule to get it manned as soon as you find the people needed. I would rotate the duties here by company Officers. I'll check back after the meeting and help out."

"Yes Sir, will do" she said looking at Gunny.

Tully smiled. "Know problem Ma'am." He watched as the officer left the room and he brought in a fire team to guard the joint.
