The Consultant - USS Carthage

Mission: Reindeer Games
Location: Marine Corps Offices - Archa IV

Liarra took a deep breath, enjoying the country air down on the planet. Lately it seemed, she didn't have much opportunity to beam down to the planet for some rest. This was another case where her visit was strictly business. Her mission was to head down to the marine base. She had one more member of her team to recruit.

She entered the admin office building and found the administrative assistant for the 14th Battalion's officers. She flashed a smile. "Commander Liarra Von here to see Captain Griffiths. I believe I have an appointment."

The secretary checked his calendar. "Of course, Commander. I'll notify the Captain." He opened his comm channel. "Captain Griffiths, Commander Liarra Von to see you."

Naomi was working in her makeshift Office catching up on some paperwork when the Comm call came through. "Send the Commander in" She said and released the door lock.

"You can head on in, Commander. Her office is down the hall and to the left." Liarra thanked the corporal and made her way down the corridor.

Doing a hasty tidy up of her desk, she had just gotten herself a much of Bajoran tea when a Commander entered her Office, she looked up and smiled. "Can I get you a drink Commander Von?" She asked.

"Thank you, Captain. I wouldn't mind a cup of tea."

"Computer one cup of tea" She said and when the item appeared in the replicator, she took hers and the Commanders tea over and handed the Commander her cup and took a seat. "I assumed that our XO is in my Office for a reason?" She asked with a smile.

Liarra takes the cup from Griffiths and takes a seat across from her. "Tell me, Captain. Have you had much experience chasing down terrorists?"

Thinking briefly "Once or twice, due to intergalactic treaties we could only go where invited, one was in Klingon space dealing with rogue Section 31 Agents the other in Cardassian space dealing with the True Way both were hold up in a building, they expected Starfleet Security Teams or intelligence or Spec Ops *Smiling* Imagine their surprise when A Squad of SFMC troops took them down both were a threat to those particular governments. *pause* In answer to your question Commander, yes I have some experience" Naomi asked.

Liarra nodded and sipped her tea. "Good. I have a proposition for you. For this mission, I don't want you to be chasing terrorists; I want you to be one." She paused a moment to let the idea sink in. "The Carthage will be acting as a Sojourner ship. We have a series of targets to hit while the Jackal tries to hunt us down. I'd like to have a hunter on my ship to give me some ideas on how to avoid them, and how to complete my objectives."

Looking intently at the Commander "This sounds intriguing, explain in more detail, apart from the fact that you want me to take part of a bad person" Naomi said.

"The Carthage and Jackal are participating in a series of war game exercises to help Starfleet prepare for the Sojourners. Because we know the Sojourners are using stolen Federation hardware, including an Excelsior class starship, the Carthage will be acting as a Sojourner ship, while Commander Ratchford and the Jackal will be trying to find us. I've seen the Sojourners in battle firsthand, but I only have so much experience chasing down rogue groups like this one. As for our mission profile, I don't have the details yet, but I know that we will have a series of missions to complete, various targets to destroy. What I need from you is to use your experience as a hunter to help think of ways to avoid Ratchford's team. Starfleet wants to use this as a learning experience, so I want to make this as difficult as possible for them."

Looking at her "so basically you want me to join you on the bridge and figure out Counter moves to our opponents counter, counter moves?" She asked.

Liarra nodded and smirked. "Yeah, that's pretty much the idea. Are you interested?"

Thinking for a moment as she weighed the pros and cons up, then looks at Liarra "There are Officers in my Regiment that can look after things here, so you got yourself advisor" She said with a smile "That is if you do not mind a Bajoran/Human hybrid?" She asked light-heartedly.

"Not at all. Welcome to the team, Captain. I still have a few last minute details to clear up with Commander Ratchford, but I'll let you know before we're ready to leave. It shouldn't be longer than a couple of days before we set out."

"Great" she said smiling "I will start packing, is there anything else Commander or are we done? As I got to start packing" She asked.

Liarra shook her head and rose to her feet. "I believe that will be all, Captain. I will explain our objectives once we are underway. Welcome to the crew of the Carthage."
