Chance Meeting (prt 2)
Posted on Wed May 28th, 2014 @ 3:50pm by Ensign Sivity Dar-Barriun & Samanthia Akiashiro
Mission:
Vagrants, Vagabonds, and Thieves
Location: SB-332 Promenade
"Deck 2301. A back room place called the Dive." Samanthia smiled. "A place that has the rougher element of the station like to hang out." Looking over Sivity. "Advice if you take it or not. Is a place where Fleet Uniforms are kinda frown on." Smile turns a bit cold, eyes become like the shadowed ice.
Sivity cocked her head to one side. her own smile was equally cold. "Sounds intriguing. I've only this top to dispense with. That's not too difficult. Show me." She instructed. Then, after a moment: "Bu,t I'll need the stone first."
Things hadn't gone so well that Sivity felt comfortable chancing her skills without arcane back up. Little things made a big difference. She was a firm believer in that. However, in terms of combat, only her shooting exceeded her martial prowess. Unfortunately, Sivity failed to appreciate the significant difference between the two. She was an almost unparalleled marksman, but her martial skills were impressive without being as outstanding.
"I'll wait here," Samanthia expression once changed again into a more relaxed, friendly warmth as before. "You go get your stone." Moving off to a nearby bench and took as a seat to wait for Sivity. Knowing that poor ole Nigs was in for a surprise. ~~I warned ya Nigs about selling crap to me~~ She though with a soft chuckle.
Sivity's encounter with Nigs went every bit as poorly as Samanthia had expected. She upended the bulk of his merchandise on the floor and met his protestations with a calm hand pressed firmly to her phaser. That elicited the production of more quality merchandise. In very short order a smiling Sivity returned with a polished agate suspended from her left wrist.
"My thanks." She greeted Samanthia warmly. "He had some very respectable goods, but was just a little shy about displaying them."
Samanthia was laughing softly at the sounds that came from Nigs. Eyes sparkling merrily. "Ever think of giving up Fleet for a better paying job?" She stood up and led the way to the nearest Turbo Lift. Maybe she'll pay another visit to Nigs, later. But now she was off showing a new Ensign about the place.
Sivity felt very pleased. The new agate felt perfect. She was confident that it would bring her good fortune. Thus she had no qualms about following the woman into the turbo lift. As they stood in the elevator, she took a strip of leather with tiny gems attached, from her wrist and used it to tie her silken white mane up in a high pony tail. She didn't want her hair in her eyes if she was to fight. She then peeled off her top. She stood comfortably in her black sports bra. Fortunately it matched her very short black micro skirt.
"You said they would not be so - comfortable - with Security. I remedied that." She answered Samanthia querulous look.
Samanthia watching Sivity remove her uniform top. ~~Bold one, she is~~ . Thinking to herself, then spoke. "Deck 2301" Once the doors had closed and the lift moved out. "Yeah. It's a hotbed where a lot of Civilians and the odd Fleeter hangs out. But for the most part it's the visitors to the station that get themselves in trouble." Feeling the Turbo lift make the drop down the stem of the station. "It's pay as you go type of place. Something of value for service there."
Deck 2301
Turbo lift doors open to a whole different world as this was working part of the station, manufacturing, environmental, power production, shuttle repair and in the odd corridor was a door still marked 'Warehouse 24' and painted in crude lettering 'THE DIVE'. Samanthia entered the dimly lit establishment.
The Dive
Sivity followed her guide with evident confidence despite her lack of attire. Her high, spike heeled boots imparted the necessary inches to bolster her assuredness. Her entrance did not go unnoticed: far from it. A semi naked, blue skinned Andorian was not a common sight even on such a vast Star Base. That Sivity possessed great beauty also ensured she garnered a great deal of attention. She didn't speak, but simply followed the other woman's lead.
Samanthia moved through the bar, taking note a lot of the menfolk and some females taking interest in Sivity as they made her way through patrons. She nodded to a few of them as she approached the bar, "What's your poison?" Glancing at Sivity as she made a few hand signals to the approaching bartender. A Big Klingon who had no house markings, but heavily battle scarred.
He placed a tall glass of orange juice before Samanthia as he nodded her unspoken commands and looked at Sivity, waiting patiently for her to order.
"Iced water - Dash of lime." Sivity responded. The Klingon dwarfed her, even in her heels. The Starbase was generally maintained at an ambient temperature comfortable for humans. That rendered it equally acceptable to the bulk of the other races present. For the most part, it wasn't an issue for the Andorian, but with the number of bodies in the confined space of the bar, it felt uncomfortably warm to her, even though she was so scantily clad. The cold water would help and avoiding alcohol would ensure a clear head for whatever was to follow. Her antennae twitched as she absorbed the full spectrum of sound in the bar. She looked around. There didn't seem to be anything to set this place apart from any number of similar watering holes on the base.
There was a lot of whispering and a lot lustful glances towards Sivity. But none made any advances as she was with an Akiashiro, Samanthia knew there was several card games going on, but they was busy checking out the Andorian female with her. She nodded at Sivity's choice of drink.
"Jerk! Put your marker back on the table!" Growled loudly a voice from one of the corner tables.
"No! Gambling is illegal on a Fleet Starbase!" Another voice, more polished than the first.
"This aint a Fleet Base! It belongs to the Merchant Consortium, Fleeter. Either put your marker back on the table or we'll put it there along with the rest of your stuff!" Same growly voice spoke again angrily.
"Yeah right! You and what army?" The polished voice snapped back as a Fleeter in uniform stood up to leave.
The Klingon growled, "Trouble." To a halfbreed Breen, who just nodded and ambled over to group that was surrounding the Fleeter.
Samanthia just turned, leaning against the bar, sipping her orange juice to watch the ensuing ruckus. "Three of your stones that the Fleeter leaves unconscious." Glancing at Sivity.
"I only bought one from him. Most of his wares were sub standard. Still, if you want to throw your money away, I will take it. That said, you've given me no reason to fleece you. The fleeter walks. Now." Having stated her conclusion with conviction, Sivity strolled over to the altercation. All eyes turned at the unmistakable click of her spike heels. She smiled as they stared, then drew her phaser and pointed at the arguing group.
"You." She indicated the fleeter. "Out now. Walk. Now anyone who wants to get shot stay standing. Otherwise - sit. I came in to relieve some stress and you idiots are NOT helping." As the man fled in as a controlled manner as he could muster, Sivity smiled more broadly. "See, that wasn't so bad. Now how much did he owe? Maybe I can win it back."
The rest sat except one, who had a Klingon Disruptor pointed at Sivity, "He owes the Syndicate what you probably aren't willing to pay. Besides it's between me and him, Andorian," He growled. Giving a hand signal and two patrons near the door, slipped out to collect. "Unless.... " Looks lustfully over her body.
Samanthia gave a soft laugh at the developing situation. She thought to herself, ~~yeah.., she's gonna love it here..~~ She coughs loudly as she makes a hand signal, when the guy with the Disruptor looked at her. He puts it away and sits down, as another shoves the chair out for Sivity to sit.
The Halfbreed Breen returns back to his place at the bar, to resume watching the room.
With the disruptor put away, Sivity turned and smiled at Samanthia. "Pleased you didn't bet against me?" She enquired quietly. She then turned to face the seated Klingon and shot him. "Never draw a weapon against me." She advised the unconscious form. She then looked around the room speedily determining if anyone else would do anything quite so rash. She was a very good shot; her marksmanship was by far her forte. She doubted the Klingon appreciated it very much though.
Samanthia laughed merrily, "Life aint fun without a few risks," as the patrons hustled the unconscious Klingon from the Dive. Patrons were busy minding their own business, "Lucky for me, it takes time for security to show up here." Motioning for the Bartender to get the bribe ready. "Feeling better?" Motioning for Sivity to rejoin her at the bar.
"yes. And Security won't bother you.. It's been dealt with - remember. So no bribes." Sivity liked to bend the rules, but preferred not to break them. If there were elements within Security taking bribes, she'd have to 'have words'. The were other ways to keep the peace. Luckily for Samanthia, Sivity really hatred paperwork. There's be no record of this incident.
Samanthia shrugs a bit. "That remains to be seen. They respond when the sensors read a spike that resemble weapon discharges." Setting her empty glass on the bar. Giving the place one more glance, seeing things settling down a bit again as conversations slowly resume. "Had enough excitement?" standing up from leaning on the bar.
"It was better than filing reports. Ah, speaking of that, I had best not be here when someone turns up. Someone will definitely want a detailed report. I don't do those. So, I'm going to have to move on. Still, thanks for the 'tour'. I'll be sure to visit again. That should keep a few people on their toes." She drank her iced water and headed towards the door.
Deck 2301 : Corridor
Samanthia left also, once out in the corridor, passing by the unconscious Fleeter that Sivity rescued earlier. She sighed as moved to the nearest comlink and report an unconscious Fleeter on Deck 2301. She hummed as she waited for the turbolift.
Sivity headed back to the office. Her gait was not swift. Samanthia had been true to her word and provided fun. She didn't want to spoil the rest of the day by having to account for the phaser discharge and unconscious fleeter. The luck stone seemed to be working fine.
