Ill Tidings
Location: SB - 332
Timeline: SB 12:15 / P 13:15
As Samanthia rode the turbo-lift back up to Deck 1403, She was pushing the envelope on her departure. But it was always nice to check in with her business interest on the star-base. She liked the challenges it gave her and to meet those she would never have met if she had chosen a different path in life.
Exiting the turbo-lift on Deck 1403, she moved through the deck towards the Akiashiro Hangers and Ship Extending ports to facilitate the offloading of cargo and personnel. She paused long enough to see Elder Raphiel for someone to keep an eye on Warp-12 and The Dive.
She exited the turbo lift on deck 1403 and moved through the now quiet central section of the level. There was still signs of the refugees by the litter they left behind. Several of clean up crews were busy removing that to be recycled. She nodded to them as she passed by them, keeping out of their way as she strode to the Security checkpoint.
Both Security and Clean-up crew eyed her wary as she moved through the section towards the Security Checkpoint that lead into directly to the Akiashiro Deck Hanger bay.
She came to a stop and dug out her ID card to be checked. "The Refugees are getting bolder?" She asked the onduty Security Officer.
"Yeah. We can't be to careful. They heard we had lots of room to spread out in." Security Officer spoke from his overwatch position as his partner process Samanthia through the checkpoint.
"They tried that with my business up on the Promenade Deck." Samanthia spoke softly, receiving her ID back.
"We heard. Rapheal is still tweaked about that. Said you should've came to us to handle it." The same Officer spoke as he dropped the shield from the opening allowing her to proceed.
"Well.. Times are changing slowly." Samanthia smirked softly. "I wonder what it would've been like to see Civilians in control of the station."
"All I can tell you is that, Akiashiro's ran the station pretty much the way they pleased as long the Station Federation Fleet Commander and personnel didn't feel threatened. And we stayed away from the more sensitive areas of the station." He smiled. "Barring a few inter business flare-ups of violence."
"Rules of engagements and all that stuff to keep it civilized?" Samanthia spoke as she stepped pass the Security Checkpoint into Akiashiro held territory of the level.
"Yeah. No energy weapons or explosives to draw the attention of the Fleeters." He gave a half smile. "So it was pretty much unarmed combat with a few braver ones with clubs and bladed weapons. Majority was with stun batons." Remembering a few times it he had been hit with a stun baton.
"Did the Fleeters step in to break up the fights?" She paused to satisfy her curiosity of that time.
"Only when it lasted more than 30 minutes. Otherwise they just stood back and watched. Then hauled the stunned to the brig to be dealt with." He chuckled. "But other than that. Everyone here made money and was happy with the setup. We stayed peaceful and ran our business, Fleet did their thing." He spoke with fondness.
Samanthia smiled and then took off with a wave. "We gotta talk some more on this when I get back."
