Preparations

Posted on Thu Jun 4th, 2015 @ 8:42am by Lieutenant Commander Morgan Kelly & Lieutenant Colonel Edward Maxwell & Lieutenant JG Erica De'Havean & Lieutenant JG Allison Price

Mission: God Complex [Incomplete]
Location: Unidentified Colony

Erica finished up placing the helm on stand-by. "Helm secure." She stood up. "Exterior air is breathable." After a quick glance at her comprehensive console. "Radiation suits are advisable." Looking at Colonel Maxwell.

"I don't turn down good advice." Ed said with a nod. "Suits it is. Can we beam to the generator or are we in for a long walk?"

"Sir, I can beam us close to the transmission, but there's still a bit of interference," Allie answered from the engineering station. "Sensors indicate that the radiation shield is being generated from a position very close to the source of the transmission. I believe that is the source of the interference. But I can get us close enough that it would be a fairly short walk. I can track the signal from the ground with a tricorder."

"Okay," Kelly took great delight in this part of the Executive Officer's role, "Price and De'Havean. You're with me." He looked at his new CO, realising that the chances of him sitting on the sidelines were slim. "Are you joining us, Sir?"

Erica leaned back against the helm console, looking at the other three.

"And sit here twiddling my thumbs while you all go out and see the sights, do something worthwhile and have fun?" Ed said with a snort. "There's no real danger on this mission, so you're damn right I'm coming. Of course," he said thoughtfully, "if there was danger I'd just be more inclined to come along. I'm a Marine." He said and grinned at his small team. "Let's go get suited up."

Allie stood up from her console and stretched. It was always great to get out on an away mission. Most of the time she was stuck in the engine room. She just hoped this mission didn't involve time travel, or mini-skirts. "I should probably grab my tool kit, especially if there is something wrong with the shield. I can meet you in the transporter room, sirs," she said to the two ranking officers.

"Not a bad idea. We'll see you in the transporter room. With luck it's something minor that they just don't have the right equipment to fix. How they ended up here I'm sure we'll find out if we run into anyone." Ed nodded.

"Probably best to stick to hand phasers for this one. Standard field kit." Kelly said, not addressing anyone specifically. "Does anyone have any medical training? We should at least carry a field kit."

Allie shook her head. "I know enough to apply bandages or operate a dermal regenerator, but if we need significant first aid, I'm not sure I can help much. We should probably still have a kit with us. Maybe someone can fumble their way through surgery in a pinch?"

"I've got the basic emergency trauma training, but thats about it." Ed said with a shrug. "Generally if someone around me needs medical attention, we were probably flying somewhere that was hot to begin with."

"Don't look at me. I know just basic to survive," Erica moving to arm herself from the weapons locker mounted on the helm console. She moved from the helm, allowing her back up take watch.

"I suppose this is yours then, sir." Kelly said with a smile, passing the small medical kit to the Colonel. "You know... just in case."

Erica joined up with Maxwell and Kelly near the door exiting off the bridge.

Price hurried to engineering to grab her tool kit before meeting the rest of the team in the transporter room. She gave the coordinates to the transporter operator and joined them on the pad. "Whenever you're ready, sir."

Erica took the back transporter pad, letting the two Senior officers have the front two. She gave a nod to signal she was ready to be beamed to the surface of the Moon.

"Energise."
