I could quite understand the need for a spotter, but I didn't think I'd be lumbered with quite the chunk. They were right about it being a tough cookie to crack. I haven't seen a marine thrown in the deep end like this since the survival trek... I wish I'd paid more attention to some of my instructors now.

Firstly I'll be talking to the new Company CO, Morris... then I'm supposed to start training up recruits in marksmanship. Do any of the marines here even have what it takes to be a marksman? I'll find out soon. Surely the CO will be able to provide some support on the matter.

I at least thought I'd be able to get eight hours sleep on the starbase, unfortunately it seems like I'll be working harder and longer. So much for 'volunteering'. End Personal Log.
