Brighter future

After Paul had returned to his quarters to freshen up Alex tidies up and freshened up then when she was sitting at her computer, she activated her desktop.
"Computer begin Personal Log Somers Alexandria Lynne" the computer beeped its readiness "I returned for an unnecessary PT SERE training exercise on the planet below I came back to find my old sweetheart had been posted to Starbase 332 as a Security Officer, with this surprising event brightened my day up like you would not believe and made what happened later better, now we are both looking to make another go of it and I am working on getting larger quarters. But I fear that we will be unable to get larger quarters until we get married, should we do so."
She paused as she pulled out a bottle of water from the retro fridge she had not long installed in her quarters.
"So, for now, it will be alternating, I feel that the future will be a little brighter now Paul is here, still there was something that was bothering him, I think he might be having those nightmares again, it puzzles me why he keeps seeing his death, it is not like he is constantly in the line of fire like us marines. Still he will tell me when he is ready of this I am sure, on another note I have found out there is an oldie retro club on this Starbase, one that plays sixties disco music, I think it is time to dust off my retro gear and go have a look-see at what it is like."
"There are many other classic places on this Starbase, Naomi never mentioned there were so many, but then again she was not much on the nightlife. I can now only wonder what the Captain had in store for the next mission, well time will tell and as normal I will find out eventually end log" Alex said and the computer beeped that it had stopped recording.
With the recording finished she finished her drink and took it to the sink and put it in the water, then she proceeded to prepare her a real meal, she began whistling an old tune to herself. Also, she hoped her Company and the other marines were enjoying their downtime after all a rested marine was a more effective marine.
