Mission:
Brave New World
Location: Kemara Ral's Apartment (Under Construction)
Timeline: Current
Egeria walked several steps behind her Mistress. She was draped with fabrics of pink and orange. To many, the young Betazoid handmaid looked as though she were wearing a sunset.
"Keep up Little Dove." Kemara called over her shoulder, "We wouldn't want you to get lost."
Egeria quickened her pace to catch up.
"Dyran says that my apartment will be done in one week." She laughed, "We'll soon see about that." .
Egeria shook her head in agreeance.
Having been aboard Starbase 332 for alittle over a week, Kemara found herself growing more and more impatient with the amount of time it was taking the renovations to her apartment
The pair approached the prescribed door and pressed the chime.
Rortom came to the door, and was shocked to see Kemara standing before him. Rortom was a rather large Bolian man, and he had sweat pouring down his face.
He had spoken to Kemara on several occasions prior to her arrival in base, but he never expected her to show up on the work site. "Madame Ral!" his voice conveyed his shock.
"Step aside, I wish to see my home." Kemara shoved at the Bolian with a manicured hand.
She made it around him, and a few steps into the apartment when he called after her, "Ma'am it isn't safe for you to be in here without protective headgear."
The aged Betazoid blinked at the man, her hand outstretched. "Well?" She said, the annoyance clear in her voice.
"Ma'am?" he responded, unsure what he was being asked.
"Get me protective headgear!" She demanded
The Bolian cringed and scurried to a bin, he produced two hard hats and presented them to Kemara and Egeria.
Kemara snatched hers from him without a word.
Egeria smiled and took hers graciously.
The trio stood for an awkward minute before Kemara broke the silence.
"Well lead the way Mister Rortom." She barked, growing very annoyed at the entire situation.
The Bolian let out a frustrated sigh. "This way." He called, leading the way into the apartment "This is the Grand Foyer, with your grand staircase and your lift."
Kemara nodded, and took a moment to look at the detail of the rounded staircase and pillared walls.
They walked past a small group of workers finishing a floor.
"This is the Formal Dining Room." The Bolian continued.
The room was completed, and was a stunning display of Betazoid architecture.
"Through here is the kitchen, it's set behind the staircase and has the separate entrance you described for the help." He said paraphrasing the woman's demands.
The trio continued on towards the other side of the foyer.
"Over here is your stately lounge area and your private offices."
Kemara turned to Rortom, "Very good, I will move in in three days."
The Bolian's eyes went wide, "Three days?!" He exclaimed "Even if we work through the nights it will still take five days at the very least."
Kemara took a deep breath, "You will have it done in three days time, I'll hire a full compliment of additional hands to make light work of it."
"I'm afraid I can only have certified workmen on the site." He said.
"And I'm afraid my patience is wearing thin." She spat, "Three days with or without the extra bodies." She turned, throwing her hard hat to him, "Tick Tock." She smiled and departed the site, casting her hard hat aside as she left.
Egeria stayed behind a moment longer, "So did you want me to get the workers here now, or later?" She asked, innocently.
"Now." Rortom responded, his face flush with anxiety, "Definitely now." He said as he looked around at the countless jobs still requiring attention
