Long Day?

Posted on Sun Sep 25th, 2016 @ 11:01am by Lieutenant Commander Tyler Vorran & Lieutenant JG Liam Harrison

Mission: Brave New World
Location: Liam & Tyler's Quarters, Starbase 332

Liam leaned against the bulkhead of the turbolift cruising down to his quarters. The station was so large that the turbolift took some time to get through the hundreds of decks and cross sections. Once the turbolift arrived at their deck, Liam stepped out and made his way towards his quarters, body aching with each step. He put the pin in to the door and fell threw, lying on the floor. "Ow," he said as he curled up into a ball and hugged his toolkit. "I think I'll just sleep here tonight..." he said, not knowing if Tyler was home or not.

Tyler heard a crash coming from the living room of their quarters. "Liam is that you?" Tyler asked as he grabbed his Phaser just in case the Borg decided to invade the station.

Liam groaned and kicked off his boots. He pushed them towards the wall and then turned on his back, holding his toolkit oh his stomach, still grasping it. He turned his head over to the side that Tyler was standing on and gave him a smile. "Hey," he mumbled with his eyes closed, happy to finally be home.

Tyler holstered his phaser when he saw it was Liam and not an army of Borg dones assimilating the living room. "Liam what happened? You look like you went hand to hand with a Gorn."

"Oh, you know. A little of this, a little of that...had a blast, really," Liam said as he turned on his side and groaned again. He sighed and looked up at Tyler, "I'm just going to stay here for a little bit and rest. My body doesn't want to move. It wouldn't be able to even if it wanted to."

Vorran went into the bedroom and grabbed blankets and pillows. "We'll if we're staying out here we might as well be comfortable. Roll on your side and I'll give you a back rub." Vorran said as he tucked the pillow under Liam's head.

With one hand, Liam unzipped his uniform and vest, shrugging them off and tossing them to the side. With his yellow undershirt on, he rolled over and nudged his arms under the pillow. He closed his eyes and tried to relax. The floor and carpeting were surprisingly comfortable for Starfleet accommodations.

Tyler started rubbing Liam's back while cuddling next to him on the floor. "Let me guess Austin?" Tyler asked as he tried to loosen his fiancé's tired muscles.

Liam sighed and nodded. "Mmmmhmmmmmm," he said as he slowly felt his aches dissipate. "Apparently he held quite a grudge when we messed up his shuttlebay. And after today, I don't think he's going to let me live it down," Liam replied. "Maybe this wasn't such a good idea," he said as he turned over to face Tyler.

"I'll see what I can do about Austin, his grievances should be with me not you." Tyler replied.

"If only life were that easy..." Liam told him with a cute frown. Liam rolled back to the other side and closed his eyes. "Forty decks worth of conduit gutting, rewiring, and reinitializing. Jefferies tube after jefferies tube..." he groaned. "I don't know if I can keep doing this..."

"I'm half Bajoran remember. I will bring him a peace offering of Hasperat soufflé." Tyler said trying to soothe his exhausted fiancé.

"Mmm," Liam said, closing his eyes again. "Hey, whatever works," he told Tyler with a small sigh. "So, how was your day? I trust it was as exciting and fun-filled as mine?" he said with a small smile and scoff.

"I spent some time testing out the flight simulator programs. A few tweaks and it'll be a challenging experience for the cadets.." Tyler replied.

"That's good," Liam told Tyler. "What about them? Have you met any of your cadets yet?" he asked.

"Not yet, classes start next week. We'll see how long they last being chased by a bird of prey in an asteroid field." Tyler chuckled

"Ooo, that sounds like fun," Liam told Tyler. "Maybe I should have been a pilot. Could've had you as my cute flight instructor." Liam yawned and turned on his back. "Actually, no. I don't think I'd have changed a single thing," he smirked and then looked over at Tyler.

"You can always stop by the academy for some personal instruction." Tyler replied.

"Eh, been there, done that..." Liam told Tyler. "If I need some lessons, I'm sure I can find someone to come and tutor me privately," he explained with a small smirk on his face.

"I think that can be arranged. Until the Folly is fixed we'll have to settle for a runabout though." Tyler replied

"So long as we don't have to deal with Commander Le, that works for me," Liam told Tyler as he sat up. "Let's go get something to eat and then crawl into bed," he suggested as he looked back at Tyler.

"Don't worry about Le, I'll have a chat with him. For now let's get dinner and call it a night." Tyler replied
